ABIH: New CM Point Approach for Category 4 – It’s Easy!!
• ABIH discontinued CM point review service Dec. 2011• For new events, now calculate our own CM credit.• Criteria still the same:
– Event targeted to professional level (not technician level), and advance the IH's technical knowledge & skills
– Determine technical contact hours aligned to at least one CM Area of IH, Safety, IH Ethics, or Management
• Must be a minimum of 1 hour (60 minutes). Exception: ethics courses can be less than 1 hour.
• IF CEUs provided, 0.1 CEU = 1 hour
– Convert hours to points @ 0.167 points per hour

communicate CM credit but perk to attract attendees
• LS suggested language: “This event contains XX.X hours and may be eligible for ABIH CM credit. See ABIH web site for CM credit criteria.”
• NOTE: previous ABIH reviews still valid till expiration / end date (e.g. multiple‐offering courses)– “ABIH has previously awarded CM credit for this event.
The current event contains XX hours which can be claimed for CM credit.”
