Welcome to ALD’s 8th VIM/ESR/VAR and Powder Metallurgy Workshop & Conference - Challenges for Premium Alloy Manufacturers - November 6th – 10th 2018 held for the first time in Nagoya, Japan with our host partner Daido Steel Chita plant. Most of ALD’s traditional VIM, ESR and VAR customers already make premium-melted superalloys and titanium powder, or they sell their own premium grades for conversion by the powder producers. Some customers are just entering these markets. Wherever you live on the supply chain you will find interesting and timely topics at ALD’s conference! As in years past, our conference will focus on the practical operational aspects most interesting to ALD’s customers and suppliers, with a focus on VIM, ESR, VAR and powder atomization furnaces and supporting technologies. We encourage our attendees to share their experiences by presenting papers and participating in interesting exchanges. 108 attendees from 14 countries have accepted our invitation. 23 papers will be presented during the conference. At the Daido Chita Plant factory tour you will see ALD’s V-ESR furnace and also Daido’s 150 ton EAF, CC-Casting and Blooming mill. Experts will be available at each station for plant explanations and questions. Following you will find all necessary information regarding locations and time tables. A conference booklet with more detailed information will be distributed on your registration. We are looking forward to see you in Nagoya. Kind regards
