RECEPTION
Fraser Clinic provides developmental treatment plans for children and young
adults faced with autism. The goal of this project is to create a comforting and
educational environment for caregiveres, administrators, physcologists, and
families. As bubbles are soft, playful, and calming, the design for Fraser’s
Children’s clinic will capture these therapeutic traits.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
To produce 3.1 Phillip Lim’s pop up store with minimalism from the brand, and vibrancy from Cape Town, inspiration will be drawn
from Phillip Lim’s campaign statement:“Our Fall/Winter 2016 advertising campaign continues our collaboration with
photographer Viviane Sassen, creating artful, unexpected images that “romance reality”, rather than escape from it. For the fourth consecutive season, authentic
images are captured without hair, make-up, and styling teams, on the streets of a global city, shooting spontaneous real moments in time.”
To capture the romance of reality, the pop-up store will travel to Cape Town. The colorful and dynamic town will be the subject of much of the design aspects. Overall, architecture and interior
elements will frame the views of the mainland to create a central point of focus. The result will frame the raw lifestyle of Cape Town and take advantage of what is naturally there to “celebrate the 3.1
Phillip Lim ethos of finding beauty in the every day”.

CULTURALLY SENSITIVE
04Junior Year | Spring 2016Culturally Sensitive Housing | St. Paul, Mn.
LOWER LEVEL MAIN LEVEL UPPER LEVEL
A home must foster connection and be versatile for a family of any cultural
background. Through designing spaces that blur the boundaries of the walls that
separate them and creating transformable thresholds, this space will support multiple
types of families and their functions. By providing families the ability to control their
home through transformable spaces, the users are free to define their own space.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
KITCHEN ENTRYPORTE COCHERE
The space will have a calming effect where kids will feel empowered to
achieve internal balance on their own. The design will take inspiration from
nature’s own serenity. The design will be implemented in an existing space and
will require materials and structures that cannot be lifted, removed, or
damaged. One will be able to interact with the space with ease and grace as
each surface provides comfort in activity and placidity.

About Me
My name is Amanda Heinecke and I am a Senior at the University of Minnesota studying Interior
Design. At a very young age I was fortunate enough to fall in love with the residential aspect
of design. Watching my parents shape the design industry with their own business has prepared
me to become a well rounded interior designer. In addition, I believe design is inspired by everyday
passings. Our horizons can be expanded through breaking out of comfort zones. For me that is
routed in wanderlust.
As an always curious designer, I look forward to where design takes me during my career!
To work in a creative and challenging environment that will allow me to grow as a
professional in the field.
