AZT+ddI, AZT+ddC )• 2002 Triple therapy with 8

Access To Care 2001-2002ATC1,ATC2

• Ministry of Public Health’s Access to Care project, initiated in April 2001

• provided 8 different regimens of triple combination therapy

• 8 regimens consisted of: • 1) Combid (AZT + 3TC) + NVP• 2) AZT+ ddl + NVP• 3) Combid + EFV• 4) d4T +ddl + EFV• 5) Combid + SQV/rtv• 6) d4T + ddl + SQV/rtv• 7) Combid + IDV/rtv• 8) d4T + ddl + IDV/rtv

• 85 patients enrolled

Monitor and evaluation ATC12002

• Poor adherence 41 %• Loss to follow up 20.7

%• Dead with new OI 7.30%

Problems analysis

• Inadequate preparing the patients / relatives before enrollment

• No plan for home visit after starting ARV

• No net work with PWA / NGO

From ATC to NAPHA

National Access to ART Program for PHA (NAPHA)

• Start in 2003• National program for HIV patient to

have access to ART• Cover 50,000 patients

• To develop a system to provide HAART to HIV patients and monitoring.

• To expand the opportunity for HIV/AIDS patients to access to ARV and care

• To develop a team for providing HAART

• Participation of NGO and PLHA

Objectives of NAPHA project

The New Paradigm• Build up network for HIV/AIDS care ( Hospital, NGO, PWA=Holistic team ) • Multidisciplinary Team consists of

-3 Internists -1 Pharmacist-2 Nurses -1 Social worker-1 Counselor -6 PWA-1 NGO ( ACCESS )

• Patient education before start HAART (TL)• Home visit plan• Adherence tool
