Tan RuYi is a Malaysian artist who has

had her base in Japan since 2001.

She uses accessible materials such

as cardboard. The motives she often

choose are familiar animals & objects.

Such as dogs, cats and toilets. However

spectators encouter “already-known x

already-known = unknown entity”.

Tan RuYi extracts the relationship of

things that people encapsulate, and

restates questions. This is her first solo

exhibition in Osaka.

タン・ルイはマレーシア出身で 2001 年

より来日し活動 を続けているアーティス

トである。その作品は主とし てダンボー

ルなど私たちの身近にあるものを素材と

し て用いており、またそのモチーフも犬

や猫といった生 き物、トイレなど毎日の

ように目にするものであった りする。し

かし、そこで私たちが出会うのは、既知

× 既知＝未知の存在である。誰もが内包

している事物と の関係性を抽出し、改め

て問いかけるタンの大阪初個 展となる。
