Period Two:Language Points of Section 1

Step 1 Fill in the blanks according to the passage.

LiMing and Mary are pen pal. Mary sent an e-mail to LiMing ,telling him her ideas about Chinese movies. She said she enjoyed Jakie Chan’s movies but was a little surprised . It was different from a typical western movie.

Jackie’s movies have a lot of action and are full of fantastic special effects.But the most important thing missing in Jackie’s movies is romance.

Step 2 Do some exercises about the passage in Section 21.Fill in the diagram in part A First, give students some typical examples of a movie term

or try to use simple words and gestures to describe the term.For example, Jackie Chan is a movie star, but he is an

Step 1 Revision Review the rules for direct and indirect speech in statements through doing the exercises on page 43 Points: tense & sentence order Step 2 Imitation Imitate the examples to create a direct command or request from the indirect speech on page 43 then ask students to find out the

similar changes in those examples.

Step 3 What’s the new pattern? Give the rules of changing direct speech into

indirect speech in command and request sentences:
