Visualizations mainly focuses on the individual units of analysis, such as documents, authors, journals, Websites, organizations, or countries during a certain time period, the test of the underlying algorithms is how well they sustain the following principles:

(1) The presence of every entity selected for mapping should be justifiable.

(2) Their placements in relation to each other should be intelligible.

(3) The label of every entity should communicate clearly.

2 基于 GIS 的空间表现形式

The early subject intersection between GIS and library Science was mainly embodied in managing and querying the literatures with geographic information resources using GIS functions.

In our study, the spatial information involved in the authors was mined and analyzed. The spatial distribution within the information was presented by several maps, which aimed to afford more intuitive visualization for the users.
