Introduction

The previous research Nakamura et al. ( 2008,2009 ) The result showed that even in the

case of lower dot-shaped TWSIs as 3.4 mm height and bar-shaped TWSIs with 2.4 mm height, the detectability of them are similar to 5.0 mm height of TWSIs compliant with the JIS.

The subject of previous research

To examine the height of steps which have been the cause of the stumble, analyzed walking characteristics of elderly people. The result showed that the height of steps should be less than 2.4 mm.

Kuge et al. (1999)

Purpose of the research

Reducing barriers of TWSIs Maintaining the function of TWSIs.

The purpose of this study is to develop TWSIs having 2 mm height or less.

Target of this study

Indoor has little hazards compared with the outdoors.

Floors of indoor is comparatively flat.

TWSIS is not installed in the building well.

CONCLUSIONIn order to secure the detection rate of 90% or more, two or one lines are needed.

However, in the experiment 3-4, the number of bars has good evaluation of three lines. Best combination is Guiding patterns is 2 mm height and 2 lineWarning pattern is staggered row and 2 mm height , and 20 mm and 30 mm diameter
