1.2 Biologische Wirkung
Phthalsäureanhydrid ist nur wenig toxisch, so daß resorptive Gesundheitsschädigungen durch das Produkt bei sachgerechter Handhabung nicht zu befürchten sind. Die primäre Hautreizwirkung von Phthalsäureanhydrid ist im Tierversuch gering, doch besitzt das Produkt in Staubform eine gewisse Schleimhautreizwirkung. Ein MAK-Wert für Phthalsäureanhydrid ist in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bisher nicht festgelegt worden; es wird aber empfohlen, den in den USA gültigen MAK-Wert von 12 mg/m3 am Arbeitsplatz nicht zu überschreiten.
