Laktat øger ligesom carbamid vandindholdet i stratum corneum.
De to fugtgivere genskaber hudens fugtighed og elasticitet indefra uden at lukke porerne.
Atrac-Tain indeholder ikke konserveringsmidler eller parfume.
IndholdsstofferVand, carbarmid, isopropyl palmitat, ethylhexyl pamitat, glyceryl stearat, laktat, stearyl alkohol, sorbitol, ammonium laktat, steraric acid, cetearet-25, cetearet-t.

Dry skin – a severe problem
Almost everyone with Diabetes Mellitus (both type 1 and
type 2) suffers from some kind of skin problem. The most
common problem is xerosis, also known as dry skin.
Impaired blood fl ow in the small vessels causes skin atro-
phy, hair loss, coldness of toes, nail dystrophies and dry
skin of all degrees. Autonomic neuropathy, which is a fre-
quent late complication to diabetes, may cause distur-
bances in sweat production, peripheral erythema, edema,
atrophy and even aggravation to the dry skin. Untreated
dry skin can develop fi ssures with a risk of ulceration.
Additionally, when the foot is exposed to increased pres-
sure and friction, the risk of developing a foot ulcer in-
creases.
Prevention of diabetic ulceration
Prevention of ulcers is important, as they not only cause
signifi cant discomfort and inconvenience for the patient,
but most importantly, can lead to amputation.
Ulceration occurs when callosity and fi ssures are in-
creased. This situation can be prevented by using a
moisturising cream formulated for the needs of the dia-
betic foot on a regular basis. Atrac-Tain is therefore an
important supplement for foot care because it helps the
skin to remain intact and at the same time prevents fi s-
sures and skin trauma.
Developed and reviewed on diabetic feet
Atrac-Tain was developed for diabetic patients and has
been proven to be effective in the prevention and treat-
ment of diabetic foot complications. This is how the
cream was proven safe and effective in use1.
Studies have proven the effectiveness of Atrac-Tain2.
The following before and after pictures are from a clinical
study of treatment with Atrac-Tain.
Nourishes and moisturises the skin
Atrac-Tain contains 10% Urea and 4% Lactic Acid (Alpha
Hydroxy Acid, AHA). Both of these are native moisturis-
ers in the skin3-5. Urea is a moisturiser penetrating the
external layers of stratum corneum, where it binds liquid.
Lactid Acid stimulates the exfoliation of the epidermis.
The exfoliation causes the skin to generate regrowth, giv-
ing the skin a smooth new look. Urea as well as Lactid
Acid increases the content of liquid in stratum corneum.
Together the two moisturisers restore the humidity and
the elasticity of the skin from inside without closing the
pores.
Atrac-Tain contains no preservatives, dye or perfume,
minimising the risk of allergic reactions on sensitive dia-
betic skin.
How to use
In the beginning of the treatment, a thin layer of cream is
massaged into the skin 2-3 times daily. When the skin is
healed, a treatment once daily secures that the skin is
kept elastic and strong. Should not be used between
the toes.
The cream is easy to use and leaves the skin non-greasy.
