Behandeling van gestoorde levertesten
• = steeds de behandeling van de OORZAAK van deze gestoorde levertesten.
• Medicatie die de bloedresultaten ‘fatsoeneert’ zonder de oorzaak te behandelen is zinloos en kan zelfs gevaarlijk zijn.
– Bv. Hepatitis B en hepatitis C met cortisone!!

• Auto immuun aandoeningen: – Auto immuun hepatitis
– Primaire biliaire cholangitis

• Gestoorde levertesten zonder cirrose of ernstige leverontsteking: – STOP alcohol (6 weken vooraleer je een duidelijk effect ziet op
de levertesten)
• Gestoorde levertesten met cirrose: – STOP alcohol – Tekenen van ernstige levercirrose (verwardheid,
vochtopstapeling in de buik) kunnen reversiebel zijn (niet steeds), doch dit duurt meestal > 6 maanden
• Alcoholische hepatitis (grote kans op overlijden): – STOP alcohol – Ernstige vormen: cortisone – Voeding stimuleren!!
