Here is the plan… Students will see how imperialism and

nationalism have influenced the political and geographic shape of the ME.

Students will understand the impact that World War I had on the ME.

Students will be able to define the term “economic imperialism”.

Read The opening section

of Chapter #26 – Section #4 on page #583.

WOW me by applying the term Nationalism and the term Imperialism to the Suez Canal.

“Final Blow” for the Ottoman Empire.

The breakup of the empire drastically altered the political and geographic boundaries of the Middle East.

Egypt In the early 1800’s,
