Changing the home page banners

Under Content, select “Homepage Images”

Find the “Body” section

You’ll see the “MAIN BANNER” section

You can expand this block to see more content by dragging here with some browsers.

I’ve done that just so we can see more content as we learn.

Notice we have several banners here (but they aren’t all online)

The key is the HTML “Comment Out” tag

The idea is we can include comments in the code that won’t be displayed in the website. To start a comment out section, we use <-- and to stop the comment out section we use -->.

See all the places we used it to comment out the section different banner titles

We’ve done the same thing by commenting out the buttons not currently in use.

The summer banner is currently online so it’s NOT commented outNo tagNo tag

To take the Summer Banner off and put the Tag Day banner on…

Tag Day Banners is online and Summer Banners is commented out.

Cut the start and stop comment out tags from the Tag Day Banner and paste them before and after the code in the summer banner section

Scroll down the page and Submit

Looks good.

Make sure the links work by clicking on the banner

New banners are uploaded through an FTP client life Filezilla

Use the same file name so you don’t need to change the code.
