What is nuclear power?

Use controlled nuclear reactions to get power, heat and electrical energy.Nuclear energy in the reactor is converted into heat.Heat change water into steam to promote the generator.

Nuclear plants are always near the seaside because they need lots of water.

Why do we have to use it?

Because global oil depletion and we need much cleaner energy.It doesn’t exhaust harmful gases toIntensify the greenhouse effect.

Disadvantage

1)The high cost of plant construction2)Thermal pollution3)Radioactive contamination4) Deal with the problem of nuclear waste

Sources of power generation in Taiwan

In Taiwan,the first nuclear plant was built in 1970,and now there are 3 plants in

Taipei County and 1 in Pingtung,Hengchun.

Government stored nuclear waste on Orchid Island,radiation leaks may occur.
