Taking Pictures that Tell a Story

Math Curse Digital Pictures

At least 5 digital pictures, one per math problem

You may take more than 5 pictures to enhance your story

Each picture should ‘fit’ your storyYou must complete a planning sheet for each

picture so you know what you are doing

Remember the requirements:

You can take pictures at home and on the weekends (good idea so you have time to decorate…the fun part!)

With special permission, you may arrange to take pictures in locations outside the 6th grade hall

Consider taking a picture for the cover of your book

Take several pictures from different angles for each picture. That way you can choose the best one when you go to print them.

Take your project seriously, but have fun doing it!

Remember the requirements:

Things to consider:Close-ups

Get up close and personal to the subject of your photo

Gives the illusion of being in the moment with the character

Things to consider:Interesting angles

Put a new perspective on your photo

Get down low, get up high, try new things

Things to consider:Directing attention

to a specific person/thing

Think about what you want your readers’ eyes to be looking at

Make this person/thing the center of the attention

Things to consider:Not all pictures have to be about

people

Using a variety of subjects in your pictures makes your book interesting. Use props, furniture, etc.

Good

luck

and

have

fun!
