Scholarship

CBS Distinguished Postgraduate Scholarship (Speech Therapy)

Up to 10 scholarships per cohort year, HK$30,000 each for the first year of study, and another HK$30,000 each for the second year of study, subject to good academic and clinical performance after the first/second year.

The maximum amount a student can be awarded is HK$60,000, which is about 13% (for non-local students) to 14% (for local students) of total tuition fees.

All MST admittees will be considered automatically upon their payment of the initial registration fees.

Fellowship

UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme

A total of 10 fellowships shall be awarded to local students, subject to a cap of HK$120,000 for each student.

Fellowship awardees are required to:• fulfill the academic requirements (including CGPA) throughout the course of

MST study• agree, upon graduation, to remain in the field of speech therapy for at least

TWO calendar years after successful completion of the MST Programme

Interested applicant(s) should submit the fellowship application (an application form and TWO recommendation letters) via eAdmission.

Credit Transfer

Up to 16 credits in Year 1 courses.

Application for credit transfer should be submitted to Programme Leaders upon initial enrolment on the MST programme. The granting of credit transfer is a matter of academic judgment.

A credit transfer fee will be charged on credit basis.

Entrance Requirements

Entrance Requirements: Degree

A bachelor's degree from a recognised University.

Preference will be given to applicants who have a bachelor degree in linguistics, psychology, speech & language sciences, medical health-related disciplines.

(IELTS); OR• A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 100 or above for the Internet-based test

Applicants should be able to communicate verbally in English effectively.

Please upload your proof of achievement for:

Normally, application will not be processed unless with full provision of supporting documents. For current students with expected graduation in 2020/21 and applicants with expected results of language proficiency test to be released, you may still apply without full provision of relevant documents. However, you should provide proof of your study status (for bachelor’s degree) and/or documents showing the date of relevant language proficiency test.

Timeline• MST admissions operate on a rolling basis

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview as part of the admissions and selection process. Interviews will be conducted during the application period or until all places are filled

• Round 1 interview: January 2021

• Round 2 interview: March 2021

• No make-up interviews could be guaranteed for applicants who failed to attend the scheduled interview

• Applicants will be notified of the admissions results normally no later than April 2021, or until all places are filled. Result of fellowship offers will be announced subsequent to admissions results, likely before the end of April 2021
