ME

I was born in Nashville, Tennessee on the 1st of March 1990. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to pursue architecture, at a young age I always had the most joy in building 3D puzzles or designing houses and roller coasters through computer programs.

In 2004 I began high school in Lake Mary, Florida all because it was home of the National Dance Team that I just had to be apart of. However, Lake Mary High School was also known for their drafting course that reassured me of my goals of being an architect. After 4 years, 5 levels, and a year of TA in drafting I knew I wanted to attend a university in the pursuit of an Architecture Degree.

In 2010, I began studying architecture at the University of Florida. As i continued my architecture studies, I also minored in Landscape Architecture. I found that I was more passionate and excited about my minor classes that I thus switched to Landscape Architecture. The passion for my new major really helped me shine though design. All the ideas just started flowing through my mind.

Today I am a 5th year Landscape Architecture Student at the University of Florida and will graduate in April 2016. I desire to work with individuals that carry the same passion and excitement through their work and the consistently want to be on the leading edge of the profession. I am highly motivated individual looking for a position that allows me the opportunity to continue my love for traveling regionally and internationally. I just had the opportunity to spend 4 months backpacking through New Zealand this past summer. I also have a strong interest in learning all the new and innovative systems and programs that are constantly developing through this major. I am interested in continuing my education and always willing to learn something new.

ALACHUACOUNTY Identify a suitable site

within Alachua County of at least 3-8 acres, and create a site plan for a new mixed use development with a brewery. I will create this by using GIS site analysis tools to identify the most suitable site within Alachua County by addressing conservation priorities, habitat corridors, watershed protection, transportation, adjacent land use, demographics, population, and other regional consider-ations. The final site plan will be a computer generated presentation showing my GIS data and how the analysis was used to inform the design.

Alachua County is located in North Central Florida, and is the home to Gainesville, Florida. Gainesville is a college town, home of the Gators, and the perfect location for a new urban mixed use development. My senior project is to conduct a full process from research, concept development, all the way to design development and construction documents. This GIS work has helped me narrow down a vacant lot with an acreage between 3-8 acres. This process was used to find a suitable site based on the transportation, conservation, land use, and local every day uses. After all of this analysis I have narrowed down the search to three suitable sites located north east of Gainesville.

DEPOT JUNCTIONDepot Junction

is a proposed mixed use development in South East Gainesville, Florida. The project focus was to incorporate the historic uses that were on the site many years ago. The rail system that once existed brought goods to and from Gainesville. Located on the east side of the site is a large new community park, Depot Park, this is a large new development that is a great addition to the Gainesville Area.

NThis site is a combination of a mixed use development, a natural greenway, and a residential area. Located at the top right of the site is an open indoor/ outdoor retail, office, and residential area. It was placed on the busiest corner of the site in hopes to connect to the local downtown Gainesville scene. Gainesville is a small town with a lot of people who love to walk and bike around town and this is a great gateway into the site. While a lot of residents love to ride their bicycles around, there are trail paths through the site to incorporate theirlove with the greenway and outdoors. This greenway is a prominent amenity for all the users and residence. The greenwayflows directly through the site to connect Depot Park and the other communities nearby.

From the very beginning this project

had my interest , because I was able to study the surrounds of a useless site and see

what the community needed and what would work best for all the users. In this project I started with hard sketches and I places my final concept into Auto CAD, then once I had all my

linework done I began to render this master plan in photoshop. After the masterplan was complete I began designing the residential building in sketchup and

finishing it in Rhino. Once I had the bones of the building I was then able to use VRay to render with materials and then start constructing the perspective and

sections of the site.

SWEETWATERBRANCHSweetwater Wetlands Park

is 125 acres of wetlands and ponds, this park was created to improve the water quality and wetlands in Paynes Prairie and the Floridan Aquifer. This site is a beautiful park located close to the city where you can enjoy a stroll while bird watching or looking for a local alligator. Go Gators! This site has some existing overlook pavilions and they are looking to expand with a visitor center, observation tower, and a children’s park. My responsibility is decisioning a visitor center.

The visitor’s center will be a highly attracted area in the Sweetwater Wetlands Park. There will be an information center for people to come and learn. This will bring classes, school field trips, scientist, and conservationist. The visitor center can also be a place to relax inside having seating looking over the wetlands, this is a great place for the elderly or disabled to enjoy the experience too. This area will be the largest indoor structure on sire which places this as a great gathering area. Since the wetlands is a beautiful landscape to look out over the visitor center would make a perfect location for a wedding or celebration. If the visitor center could hold around 60-70 people this would be perfect for a small wedding or reception.

My internship opportunity was at TBG partners in Fort Worth, Texas. I was their first intern at this location and was fortunate enough to also work in their Dallas office once or twice a week. This was the best oppor-tunity for me because I was able to work in a “small” off and a “large” office but still be apart of a larger overall organization. I was able to learn so much from all of the people that I met anywhere from planning to people who specialized in certain aspects of the profession.

Alexan Cityline This is a residential project in Dallas, Texas. This is a luxury apartment complex with three courtyards, active, passive, and a pool courtyard. My part in this project was to help with all of the digital renders, I used a waco tablet and photoshop, I was also responsible for the layout for the Schematic Design Package for the client. This really taught me how to keep things simple and crisp.

Alta Left BankThis is a project located in Fort Worth, TX. It is a mixed used development that TBG worked on for a sort time, I actually lived across the street from the site location. This was my favorite project in my internship because I felt so connected to it, from living in the community for 8 months. This was a great opportunity for me to work hands on from the start to finish on a project, I was there for the site visits, team meetings, and the principals design process. I honestly hope that I get to go visit this site one day and see what I was apart of. I helped with the digital graphics and construction documents
