FINA RULES UPDATE

SW 1.2.2 Jos automaattinen ajanotto eiole käytössä, on se korvattava ajanottajienjohtajalla, yhdellä (1) ajanottajalla per rataand yhdellä (1) vara-ajanottajalla.

SW 1.2.3 Maalituomareita voidaankäyttää, mikäli automaattinen ajanotto ja/taidigitaalikellot eivät ole käytössä.

SW 2.2.1 Valvomon johtaja valvooautomaattisen ajanoton käyttöämukaanlukien viedeoajanottolaitteisto.

SW 2.2.4 Valvomon johtaja voi varmistaaviestin vaihtorikot videoajanottolaitteistolta.

SW 2.5.2 (hylkäyslappujen ketjutuspoistettu säännöistä)

SW 2.6.1 Jokaisella radalla molemmissäpäädyissä on yksi käännöstarkastaja, jokavarmistaa että uimarit noudattavat sääntöjälähdön jälkeen, käännöksissä ja maaliintultaessa.

SW 2.6.2Käännöstarkastajan toimivaltalähtöpäädyssä alkaa lähtösignaalista japäättyy, kunnes uimari on päättänytensimmäisen käsivedon, paitsi rintauinnissa,jossa se päättyy uimarin päättäessä toisenkäsivedon.

SW 2.6.3 Jokaisessa käännöksessä käännöstarkastajantoimivalta alkaa ennen käännöstä olevan viimeisenkäsivedon alettua ja päättyy käännöksen jälkeisenensimmäisen käsivedon (rintauinnissa toisen) päätyttyä.

SW 2.6.4 Maaliintulossa käännöstarkastajan toimivaltaalkaa viimeisn käsivedon alkaessa ennen kosketustapäätyyn.

SW 2.6.5 Kun selkäuinnin lähtöavustinta käytetään, senpaikalleen asettamisesta ja lähdön jälkeen poistamisestavastaa käännöstarkastaja.

SW 2.6.9 Käännöstarkastaja ilmoittaakilpailunjohtajalle epäillystäsääntörikkomuksesta allekirjoittamallaanhylkäyslomakkeella yksilöiden lajin,ratanumeron ja epäillyn rikkomuksen.

SW 2.7.3 Ratatuomari ilmoittaakilpailunjohtajalle mahdollisensääntörikkomuksen allekirjoittamallaanhylkäyslomakkeella yksilöiden lajin,ratanumeron ja epäillyn sääntörikkomuksen.

SW 2.9.4 Mikäli videoajanotto ei olekäytössä, saattaa olla tarpeellista käyttääajanottajia, vaikka automaattinen ajanottoolisi käytössä.

• SW 3.2.5 Alkuerissä, välierissä jafinaaleissa uimarien on ilmoittauduttavakokoontumispaikalle järjestelytoimikunnanilmoittamana aikana. Tarkastuksen jälkeenuimarit jatkavat viimeisellekokoontumispaikalle.

SW 6.2 PoistettuConsequently re-numbering

SW 7.1 After the start and after each turn,the swimmer may take one arm strokecompletely back to the legs during which theswimmer may be submerged. At any timeprior to the first Breaststroke kick after thestart and after each turn a single butterflykick is permitted. SW 9.2 Vapaauintiosuudella uimarin on oltavavatsallaan paitsi suorittaessaan käännöstä.Käännöksen jälkeen uimarin on oltava vatsallaanennen ensimmäistä käsivetoa tai potkua.

SW 9.3 In Medley relay events, swimmers will coverthe four swimming strokes in the following order:Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.Jokaisen uintilajin on katettava yksi neljäsosa (1/4)uitavasta matkasta.

SW 11.2 When Automatic Equipment is used,the results shall be recorded only to 1/100 of asecond. When timing to 1/1000 of a second isavailable, the third digit shall not be recorded orused to determine time or placement. In theevent of equal times, all swimmers who haverecorded the same time at 1/100 of a secondshall be accorded the same placing. Timesdisplayed on the electronic scoreboard shouldshow only to 1/100 of a second.

SW 12.8 World Records and World JuniorRecords will be accepted only whentimes are reported recorded by AutomaticOfficiating Equipment, or Semi-AutomaticOfficiating Equipment in the case ofAutomatic Officiating Equipment systemmalfunction.

SW 12.11 Worlds Records and World JuniorRecords can be established only in freshwater water with less than 3 gr/litre of salt.No World Records will be recognized in anykind of sea or ocean water.

SW 13.1 When Automatic OfficiatingEquipment (See FR 4) is used in anycompetition, the placing and times sodetermined and relay take-offs judged bysuch Equipment shall have precedence overthe timekeepers and inspectors of turns.

GR 9.2.2 Protest must be submitteda) to the referee,b) in writing on FINA Forms,c) by the responsible team leader,d) together with a deposit of 100 500 Swiss

Francs or its equivalent, ande) within 30 minutes following the conclusion of

the respective event or match.

GR 6.3 Advertising for tobacco, or alcohol orsports-related betting is not allowed.

SW 4 THE START

2017 InterpretationAfter all swimmers are “stationary” (SW 4.1), any swimmerinitiating a start before the signal may be disqualified when suchmovement if observed and confirmed by both the starter andreferee (SW 2.1.6). When video timing is available (FR 4.7.3), itmay be used to verify the disqualification.

2015 InterpretationAfter all swimmers are “stationary” (SW 4.1), any swimmer whomoves before the starting signal may be disqualified when suchmovement is observed and confirmed by both the starter andreferee (SW 2.1.6). When video-tape timing system (FR 4.7.3) isavailable, it may be used to verify the disqualification.

SW 9 MEDLEY SWIMMING

SW 9.1 In individual medley events, the swimmer covers the four swimmingstrokes in the following order: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle.Each of the strokes must cover one quarter (1/4) of the distance.

Interpretation:According to SW 9.1 each of the strokes must cover one quarter (1/4) of thedistance. Being on the back when leaving the wall for the Freestyle portion ofthe Ind. Medley is covering more than one quarter of the distance in the style ofBackstroke and is, therefore, a disqualification. Backstroke swimming is onlydefined as being on the back. ADDITIONAL INTERPRETATION –AWAITING FINA TSC COMMISSION APPROVAL (NOVEMBER 2017)

“Leaving the wall on the back during the freestyle portion ispermissible but no kicking action is permitted until theswimmer has returned past the vertical to the breast atwhich point kicking, including a butterfly kick(s) maycommence.”
