“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly

realms.” (Eph. 6:12)

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

The tempter came to him and said, ‘If you are the Son of God,

tell these stones to become bread.’” (Mt 4:1-3)

“Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you

will not strike your foot against a stone.’” (Mt 4:5-6)

“Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed

him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. ‘All this

I will give you,’ he said, ‘if you will bow down and worship me.’”

(Mt 4:8-9)

One day the angels came to present themselves before the

LORD, and Satan also came with them. The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”

Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my

servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears

God and shuns evil.”

“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and

everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks

and herds are spread throughout the land. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will

surely curse you to your face.”

The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your

hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

(Job 1:6-12)

“For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from

the Father but from the world. (1 Jn 2:16)

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild

animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God

really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the

garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”

“You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing

good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she

took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who

was with her, and he ate it.(Ge 3:1-6)

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”

(1 Tim. 4:1)

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your

father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to

the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the

father of lies.” (Jn 8:44)

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their

humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil

— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their

fear of death. (Heb 2:14-15)

“And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly...”

(Ro 16:20)
