Quick service restaurant for Salads

Problem

Unhealthy food consumption by people who are seeking delicious and healthy food.

Solution

A quick service healthy food chain where customers can eat delicious salads, and have drinks of fresh fruits.

Why Now?

Health consciousness is rising and is greater than ever before.

Where are we ?

• Broke-even successfully prototype in Udaipur, Rajasthan on a Vending Cart Model in the first week itself and got amazing response.

Testimonials…we have repeating customers…

• We didn’t know what the biggest challenge was in this business, until we started it. The biggest challenge was efficient inventory management system for keeping freshness, reducing wastage, reducing theft and overall profit generation.

• Being from engineering background, we created sophisticated tools on excel. Now, from preparation chart to purchase list, everything is automatic. The good thing is it works highly accurately.

• To give an idea of the sophistication of our system, we hope these things can suffice:

1. For input we give only the no. of plates to prepare for each salad, the no. of sales each day, expenditures, and quantity purchased. We never weigh things after purchasing them. Everything else is told by the system.

2. We have done accurate quantification of each recipe. So, the product is not dependent on the hands of the chef who is making it.

3. We have made it complex to also account for the usable quantity of any ingredient. Say, in pineapple for every 1 kg, 250 g is wastage skin and leaves. We keep that in mind in our system.

Competition Analysis

No big or direct competition in India right now.

Competitive edge for future will be developed in recipes.

Sweetgreen.com is an International competitor which has already raised $95 m, and is operating 40 stores in USA.

Subway provides no real competition, because though they provide salads also, there is no variety in their salads. They have not unleashed the potential of salads.

Where we want to reach?

Our vision is to take the salad industry by storm . The way salads are being looked at is something which is just healthy . We say it has to be healthy but good-taste first food and have successfully achieved this in our prototype. Freshpeels has the potential and vision to become Mcdonalds, dominos of salads and even replace them . We plan to revolutionise salad technologies existing in the market by replacing salad cutters and machines big way to bring the concept of customized salads with beautiful and customizable shapes crossing all imaginations.

We are looking to partner up with someone who can guide us with their valuable experience and vision.

Our Story

• 30th Jan, We felt discouraged looking at the eating options around us.

• 2nd Feb, We decided to do something about it, and formed a team.

• 6th Feb, We were not cooks, so we put an ad on social media groupsfor menu makers.

• 22nd Feb , Got menu prepared, we wrongly thought this was the toughest obstacle.

• 27th March, The prototype cart was on roads.

• 29th March The sales was easy. Realised that the toughest thing was inventory control. So, we made sophisticated programs for it on excel.

• 1st Apr, We broke-even.

• 7th Apr, Closed the cart, because the cook was not following hygiene standards.

• We want to raise investment, make news, then hire one young chef.

• Then go in silent mode for 1-2 months, and then work on shop design, menu design and location selection simultaneously.

• Then open an outlet in a metro, and make news again.

Next critical milestone
