PROJECT:

The house that was chosen is called House in Vilnius. This residence was

constructed in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the year of 2013 and is a total of 247

m2, consisting of 2 floors. This house represents a historic Vilnius

suburban area. This structure is made of wood and it signifies the

beginning of the 20th century, where gigantic residential houses were

constructed in the early Lithuanian years. Schools used to be this size

way back in the 20th century. The architect wanted to repeat the history

of architecture by incorporating this style, using a small area and making

it have a wreckage look. However, the house remains cultured, eligible

and appropriate for a family, relatively small in size.

SITING

“This house is integrated into a densely urbanized slope

of a historic Vilnius suburban area dictates a new quality

and aesthetics” (Arch Daily, p.4). The house has a quiet

neighborhood with another house situated beside it. The

house is mostly surrounded by nature providing the

house with shade from the sun. The house is facing north

and this signifies that the sun’s rays will mostly be shining

on the east side of the house, which shows that the house

can be powered by the sun’s energy.
