!ermission, I have !raised that 7ord o& sacri&ices, that +eit o& su!reme !uissance, that&oremost o& a(( creatures endued #ith inte((igence. !raising #ith these names that
enhance one's aus!iciousness o& the great (ord o& %(essedness, a #orshi!!er o& devoted

in the heart o& one that is conversant #ith ever mode o& #orshi!!ing that great +eit. <Such stain(ess and !ure devotion to Rudra, that has sing(eness o& !ur!ose and that is
sim!( irresisti%(e in its course, is se(dom to %e &ound among even the deities, and never
among men. It is through the grace o& Rudra that such devotion arises in the hearts o&
human %eings. In conse?uence o& such devotion, men, identi&ing themse(ves #ho((#ith )ahadeva, succeed in attaining to the highest success. The i((ustrious +eit #ho is
a(#as inc(ined to e6tend his grace to#ards them that see/ him #ith humi(it, and thro#
themse(ves #ith their #ho(e sou( u!on him rescues them &rom the #or(d. E6ce!t the great

thus Tandi o& tran?ui( sou(, resem%(ing Indra himse(& in s!(endour, !raised the i((ustrious7ord o& a(( e6istent and none6istent things,that great +eit c(ad in anima( s/ins.
Indeed, rahma had sung this hmn in the !resence o& San/ara. Thou art a rahmana
%eing conversant #ith rahman and devoted to those that are conversant #ith rahman*.Thou sha(t, there&ore, com!rehend it #e((. This is c(eansing, and #ashes a#a a(( sins.
This con&ers Yoga and Emanci!ation and heaven and contentment. 8e #ho recites this
