NitrilesQ 0520 New Method for the Synthesis of α-Chlorocinnamonitriles. — The reaction of
hydrazones with Cl3C-CN affords α-chlorocinnamonitriles with marked preponder-ance of the E-isomer. A convenient one-pot procedure is developed, which allows to prepare α-chlorocinnamonitriles directly from aromatic aldehydes (IV) without isola-tion of the intermediate hydrazones. — (NENAJDENKO*, V.
