Background and Purpose of Program
• Background: • The need of nurses is increasing in both China and Sweden. • The high quality of Swedish healthcare system and nurse competence is attractive to
Chinese organizations. China is eager to learn from Sweden.• The ‘China-Sweden Nursing Talents Development Program’(CS-NTDP) is a tailor-made
program . It is a Win-Win solution for both China and Sweden in healthcare nursing service.
• Purpose of the program • To develop Chinese nursing competence by adding international nursing knowledge
and experience from Nordic countries, and to support Chinese demand for qualified nurses in the future.
• To develop cooperation between Swedish and Chinese Institutions for Nurses’ Education, meanwhile supporting the Swedish health care market by temporarily reducing the shortage of nurses.
Aging in China & Demand for Nursing Talents
According to the statistics of China Nursing Association (CNA),
the gap of nurses represent at least 1 million in hospital in China, and the gap is expanding. The gap in elderly homes is
over 10 million.
High-end medical institutions, such as foreign-funded hospitals
and elderly homes, need highly experienced, skilled, fluent in foreign languages.
The international nursing talents are in high demand. The nursing professionals who have international vision and skills also
have very good career prospects and career development in China.
