effectivelycollectandshareinformationfrommanydifferentsources.

Vitallinkstobuildintelligenceonterroristoperationscomefromtraditionalagenciesandfromnon-mainstream

informationservices.Tothisend,theOhioDivisionofHomelandSecurityhascreatedtheStrategicAnalysisand

InformationCentertofacilitateeffectiveterrorism-relatedinformationandintelligencesharing.

PRIMARyObjECTIVETheSAICisateamoflocal,county,state,federalandprivatesectorjurisdictionsdeterminedtomakeadifference.TheprimaryobjectiveoftheSAICistofunctionasa“one-stop-shop”forterrorism-relatedinformationfortheStateofOhio.

TheSAICservesasasecurecentralfusionprocessforthecollection,filtering,analysisanddisseminationofterrorism-relatedinformation.TheSAICintegratesexistinglocal,state,federal,publicandprivatesectors.Theresultinganalysisisdistributednotfromthepointofviewofanyoneagency,butfromaneutralhomelandsecurityperspective.

WorkingaspartnerswiththeFederalDepartmentofHomelandSecurity,theSAICalsoestablishesandmaintainsthecapabilitytomonitor,preventandrespondtopotentialthreats.DHSmaintainsdailycontactwithOhioHomelandSecurity,supplyingcriticalguidanceandintelligence,helpingensuretheStateofOhioisfullyinformedandprepared.

TheSAICrefersterroristspecific“criminal”intelligencetofiveFBIJointTerrorismTaskForces,whicharelocatedinthemajorurbanareasofOhio.ThejTTFsconsistofrepresentativesoffederal,local,countyandstatelawenforcementagencies.Viewedasthenation’sclearinghouseforcriminalinvestigationsrelatingtoterrorismactivities,eachjTTFhasitsowninvestigativeandanalyticalstaff.
