Presidents’ DayChildcare Sign-Up

There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February18th in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will

have Childcare available for all grades, Toddler - 8th grade that day.If you plan to have your child attend that Monday, please be sure tosign up with your child’s teacher (Toddler-PK) or with the afterschool teacher (K-8th).

There is no additional charge for Toddler-PK if these are days yourchild normally attends. There is no additional charge for K-8th gradechildcare for those who pay for before/after school childcare. If youdo not normally use childcare but will need it these days, there willbe a $45 per day fee.

PLEASE NOTE: The cafeteria will not be open Monday, February18th, so NO HOT LUNCH will be provided. Please bring a lunchfrom home on those days.

The CogAT test is coming!

February 12th - 15th First Grade will take the CogATFebruary 19th - 21st Third, Fifth and Seventh will take the CogAT

What is the CogAT? The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a K–12assessment designed to measure students’ learned reasoning abilitiesin the three areas most linked to academic success in school: Verbal,Quantitative and Nonverbal.

Is it an IQ Test? CogAT is not an IQ or intelligence test nor is it anachievement test. Instead it measures reasoning abilities in the ver-bal, mathematical and spatial arenas.

Which version of the CogAT does Pilgrim use? Pilgrim use theForm 6 exam.

What are some test taking tips for the CogAT? The best tip isgood preparation. Get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfastand have a positive attitude.

 Auditions for theSpring Program,

 “Backstage” THIS WEEK 

 Auditions for 5th through 8th graders will be held this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,February 11th - 13th, from 7:00 to 7:45am in the 4th Grade classroom. If you plan toaudition, make sure you bring your signed Audition Form.

Our Spring Program, which will include the Early Childhood classes and K - 8th Grade,will be held on May 3 at 6pm, so mark your calendars!

Did you know…?

Pilgrim Lutheran School offers multi-child discounts for families with more than onechild enrolled, as well as discounts to our church members?

Families with more than one child enrolled in Early Childhood and/or K - 8th grade re-ceive a 25% discount on the second child’s tuition, 50% on the third and 75% onthe fourth. For Early Childhood, these discount only apply to the Half Day tuition.

Church members currently get a 20% discount on Kindergarten through 8th grade tui-tion, making our Member tuition $6,880 for the school year.

Finally, families are eligible to receive BOTH discounts. Throw in the Childcare TaxCredit and you’ve got an amazing deal on a great private school education!

OPEN HOUSE - Tuesday, February 19thPlease encourage your friends to come and visit us at our next OpenHouse event on Tuesday, February 19th anytime between 4:30 and7:00 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to tour the campus,meet with the principal, visit with teachers, and obtain informationabout Pilgrim. This is also a great opportunity to come visit with yourchild’s current and upcoming teachers. We hope to see you there!

Kindergarten Preview - Tuesday, February 19thParents, come see what Pilgrim Lutheran School has to offer from Kindergarten andbeyond! As part of our Open House on Tuesday, February 19th we will also have aspecial Kindergarten Preview event. Ms. Bertrand will go through the highlights of Kindergarten at Pilgrim, including what makes our Kindergarten through 8th Gradeprogram so unique. For our Toddlers, PreSchool and PreKindergarten parents, thiswill be an excellent opportunity to gain some insight into how we prepare ourstudents, both academically and spiritually, for high school and beyond.

Referral BonusTell your friends about Pilgrim and be eligible for referralamounts of $300 for 5-day/$200 for 3-day/$100 for 2-dayreferrals. The referring family must be included on the newstudent’s Online Application. All referral bonuses will be paid 5months after the new student starts classes.

Congratulations to Ms. Jamison’s Twos class andMr. Eberts 5th Grade class for winning our car stickercompetition! Thank you to all of the families who partici-pated with their new Pilgrim Lutheran School car stickerstoo! And even though their classes did not win, a specialprize goes out to Kennedy and Tommy Claytor who hadBOTH of their parents bring them to school, with new stick-ers on both cars, very clever!Our new complementary car stickers and yard signs are stillavailable in the school office.
