The Steinhart Aquarium is a major element o the new Renzo Piano-designed Caliornia Academy o Sciencesacility in Golden Gate Park. Chris participated in the designdocumentation, contract administration, media productionand installation phases o this state-o-the-art living museum.

As the exhibit designer working within a small team alongside anarchitectural design lead, project manager and media producer,

Chris was intimately involved in the coordination o dozenso live displays, animal enclosures, exhibits, graphics, lighting,sotware, and audio-visual elements that collectively create theSteinhart Aquarium experience. The task o bringing all o thiswork together smoothly put Chris in direct collaboration withproject exhibit design team, various contractors, the Academy content teams and the architect.

Chris was responsible or tracking hundreds o shop drawingsissuing and tracking sketches and revisions, and maintaining 60+ page design control drawing set. On the media side, hcollaborated with media producers and sotware developers toestablish the interaction design, inormation architectures andhardware requirements or $1 million o interactive displays.

Since opening, The Steinhart Aquarium has become one o th

most popular attractions at the Academy and has been visitedby over one million people over its frst two years. The projecwon numerous accolades in 2009, including the Silver IDEAaward rom IDSA, Good Design Award, Archi-tech AV AwardGrand Prize, and Event Design awards or environments.
