Texting while driving is said to be more dangerous than drunk driving.

Studies show that hands free headsets are a good alternative and are less dangerous then texting or talking on the phone.

More people talk on their phone and use other electronic gadgets in the car then drive drunk.

“Distracted Driving is a menace to society. And it seems to be getting worse every year.” (“Texting while driving: The New Drunk Driving”)

One in seven people have texted while driving at one point or another.

6,000 people die or get injured a year due to texting while driving.

More then 250 million people in the last decade worldwide have died or become badly injured due to texting while driving.

In the back country› There is less traffic.› Teens think it is okay because of the open

space.

At a stoplight› The car is stopped.› Influential characters, such as parents, often

text or call at stoplights.

28 percent of crashes involve cell phone use.› This is 23 percent more then non-

distracted crashes.

Adults› The younger adult age set.

Two thirds of people surveyed admitted to talking on their phones while driving.

One in seven people have texted while driving.

6 percent of drivers at any time are on the phone.

My career is a lawyer. It is associated with my research project because people need lawyers after being charged with distracted driving.› Salary- up to $200,000 per year or more.› You could move up in this career, for

example from the local government to the state government to the federal government.

This career has a lot of potential for advancement. It is advancing at 13% from 2008 to 2018.
