Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. People celebrate Thanksgiving to give thanks. People celebrate this holiday by having a feast. Some Thanksgiving dinners have turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes and maybe pies. Some people give thanks before they eat.

People celebrate Thanksgiving in their houses or their family or friend’s houses. Symbols that represent Thanksgiving are Turkeys, Indians, Pilgrims, cornucopias, pumpkins, and The Mayflower. WOW!!!

Thanksgiving became a holiday in 1621. This

holiday was in honor of the Pilgrims and the

Native American’s first feast together. George

Washington decided that Thanksgiving should be

a federal holiday. In the Revolutionary War the

colonists gave thanks every time they won a

battle. Now, on this holiday there are parades in

New York City.
