Period 6 - Group: 4

Problem 1:

Look how careless people are here at Westside, leaving their trash like it doesn’t matter. Trashcans are there for a reason; we should use them.

Problem 2:

Trash makes Westside seem trashy. You don’t want your school to have that impression do you?

Look at all the garbage that not even a full day at Westside amounts to. You wouldn’t want to walk through all of this.

Problem 3:

We have the resources to make our school a better place, but we fail to use them.

Why Fix it?•Wouldn’t you rather the school look like this?

•A clean school means a better environment.

•A better environment means that more people want to be here.

•More people means more funding for our school.

Why Fix it?This is Westside, the home

of the wolves!

•We should want to keep Westside clean because it’s our school.

•We don’t want to stoop down to the negative judgments of others.

•You should want Westside to be recognized as the best school, not one of the worst.

•Have some pride in your school; Westside is the place to be after all.

Why Fix it?A better environment means a happier environment.

Ways to fix it:

Hiring more maintenance personnel would supply more jobs and make Westside easier to clean.

Recycling saves trees, money, and the environment.

Why does recycling have to seem boring when you can make it fun?

MONSTER!

•Recycling can be a lot of fun when you use your imagination.

•The Ecology Club at Westside made the bag monster to represent the amount of plastic bags we waste in a given month.

•Imagine how much damage that would cause to the different ecosystems that surround us.

Trash Kills!

This is what happens when you’re careless about the environment, so lets make it clean.

Wouldn’t you rather be in an environment like this where you have something nice to look at and enjoy?
