Activity• Folders: I will give each one of you a manilla folder.

These folders will be a great resource for you as we move on. On the front you should draw out the conjugation charts that we have talked about so far (start with Ser & Estar so that you can put –ar, -er and –ir verbs together as we discuss them)

• In the inside of the folder put vocabulary that we have learned along with picture representations where possible.

• We will continue working with these folders as the semester continues

Journal Entry• What is censorship? How does it come about and what effect does

it have on the people of any country involved in it?

Censorship: A definition• Censorship- The practice of officially

examining book, movies, etc., and suppressing any unacceptable parts. This can be used to protect national security, control hate speech and pornography, promote or restrict political views or religions, or to prevent slander.

Phone Conversation

Listen to the following recorded phone conversation. Draw a line down the middle of

a piece of paper. During the conversation write down any words you recognize in

Spanish on the left side of the paper. Then, on the right side of the paper write the same

word or expression in English.

Email Practice• On the next slide there is an email. Pretend that

the email is from a friend of yours in another country. Read the email, and write a response to the email in Spanish. Make sure to include a question that the next person can respond to. When you are finished, hand your email to one of your classmates and let him or her write a response to your email. When you are both finished, call me over to let me check your work.

El Poster

• I want you to make a poster about yourself. These posters will be collages about you and things you do/ like to do/ want to do.

• Use magazine pictures to make a 3 section poster. One section should contain statements about yourself in Preterite tense, one should be in Imperfect tense, and the third should be in Subjunctive. Provide pictures for each.

• We will continue this project in class tomorrow.

Preterite Practice

• Do the worksheets I give you. There are a few pages about each tense and one or two about deciding which tense you should use.

• Raise your hand if you have a question about how to complete a task.

regular basis. Draw a picture of them and write their Spanish translation if you know it.

Outline your wardrobe

• Get one of the magazines off the pile on the projector stand. Then grab a sheet of computer paper.

• Find one full body picture of a person and tear it out of the magazine

• Place the magazine picture down on the computer paper. Press down as you outline the person’s body.

• After you have the outline drawn on the computer paper, use the words in Spanish for each article of clothing to go over the outline

• Color your picture.
