Subject Selection

Your course selection

You have to take six subjectsMost subjects will have about 20 – 25

credits available in it. Most students will be taking all Level 2

subjects some may be taking a combination of Level 1 and possibly Level 3 subjects.

Your course choice for the core subjects should follow your subject teachers recommendations.

If you have not passed the subject at Level 1 you will have to still pass the required standards at this level before progressing to Level 2.

Your course selection Some courses will have a mixture of

internally assessed and external end of year exams.

Some will only have internal assessments.

YOUR SELECTION IS IMPORTANT AND WILL DECIDE WHAT YOU CAN DO IN THE FUTURE –for Year 13 subjects and many tertiary courses.

The school also offers the Trade Academy and Gateway (this will be spoken about after this presentation)

To achieve this students will need to:attend school regularly (90% or

higher )to apply themselves consistently

throughout the year. Be role models for the junior school

through responsible behaviour and following the school codes.

School leadershipWe will be encouraging students to

be involved in a wide range of school co-curricular and possibly community activities.

This is an important year for students to be developing and demonstrating the qualities required for school leadership in 2016.
