Einst war sie der höchstgelegene Bergbauernhof in St. Johann, heute ist sie die Heimat unserer Gäste. Auf 1.300 Metern Höhe, direkt an der Piste und den Wilden Kaiser fest im Blick, gehen die Uhren ein wenig langsamer als im Tal: Slow Food ist hier keine Floskel, sondern gelebter Genuss in luftiger Höhe. Die kristallklare Bergluft erfrischt die Sinne, die traumhafte Naturkulisse lässt den Alltag vergessen und herzliche Tiroler Gastfreundschaft sorgt für dein Wohl. Komm’ herein und genieße!

In the best possible location right in the heart of the St Johann ski area on the Kitzbüheler Horn, the Angerer Alm can look back on 200 years of history, it is the oldest Alm on the Kitzbüheler Horn. Once known as the highest mountain farm in St Johann, it is now the home-from-home for our guests. At an altitude of 1,300m, directly on the slopes and with the Wilder Kaiser right ahead of us, the clocks here really do go a little slower than down in the valley: Slow Food is not just a phrase, but everyday reality and enjoyment high up in Alpine loftiness. The crystal clear mountain air blows the cobwebs away, the jaw-dropping Alpine scenery is bound to make you forget about your everyday life and the warm Tyrolean hospitality guarantees you are having a brilliant time. Come up, come in and relish!

Bei uns am Berg regiert die Weiblichkeit. Die Angerer Alm ist seit 1985 in Familienbesitz, 1989 durfte ich sie erst 19-jährig übernehmen und seither ist sie mein Zuhause. Gemeinsam mit meiner Tochter Katharina „schupfe“ ich jetzt den Betrieb und bin stolz darauf, was wir aus unserer Weiberwirtschaft gemacht haben: die wohl ungewöhnlichste Berghütte Österreichs! Katharina ist mir dabei eine wichtige Stütze – ob in der Küche oder im Service. Trotz ihres jungen Alters ist sie als Gastgeberin ganz der Tradition verbunden und verleiht der Angerer Alm eine gehörige Portion jugendlichen Charme und Lifestyle.

Femininity reigns up here on the mountain! The Angerer Alm is family owned since 1985 – I took it on in 1989, when only 19 years old, and have called this my home ever since. I run the operation together with my daughter Katharina, we are both very proud of what we have made of our ‘henhouse’, for it is without doubt the most remarkable mountain hut in Austria! Katharina is an invaluable support – whether in the kitchen or in the service. In spite of her young years she is a perfect host and very connected with our traditions, in addition she gives the Angerer Alm a good deal of youthful charm plus a good dash of today’s lifestyle.

Wenn du zu uns heraufkommst, erwartet dich ein kulinarisches Erlebnis. Tagsüber ist es die köstliche Tiroler Hausmannskost vom Kaiserschmarrn bis zu den Speck-knödeln. Abends verwandeln wir die Angerer Alm in ein Paradies für Genießer. Eine Speisekarte haben wir dafür nicht. Wir kochen, was uns die Region, unsere eigene Milchwirt-schaft, der hauseigene Kräutergarten und die Bauern rundherum gerade bieten – frisch, regional und saisonal.

Up here on the Alm you can expect an exceptional dining experience. During the day we offer the most delicious traditional Tyrolean dishes from bacon dumplings to the world famous Kaiserschmarr‘n. Dinner at the Angerer Alm is a veritable feast: we do not have a menu – we prepare our dishes with what’s best in the region, on our own farm, in our herb garden and the farms around us – it’s fresh, it’s regional, it’s seasonal – and it is glorious!

Zimmerl mit typischem Alm-CharakterUnsere 13 urigen und liebevoll eingerichteten „Zimmerl“ bieten erholsame Ruhe. Fernseher gibt es keinen, dafür ist der Blick auf die Berge einfach einzigartig. Und weil eine Alm auch ein Almerlebnis braucht, findest du die gepflegte Dusche und das WC am Gang.

There are no TV’s, however the views over the mountains are absolutely unique and will stay with you forever. And because the Alm is a bit of an experience in itself, you’ll find a pristine shower and WC along the corridor.

Die Angerer Alm ist ein ganz besonderer Ort zum Feiern. Ob private Geburtstagsfeier, Jubiläum, Hochzeit, gemütliches Familienfest oder Firmenevent – mit viel Liebe zum Detail nehmen wir Bedacht auf deine individuellen Wünsche. In unseren drei Stuben finden bis zu 100 Personen Platz:

• „Jagastube“ – 4 Tische, 20 – 24 Sitzplätze• Mittlere Stube mit offenem Kamin & Kachelofen – bis zu 9 Tische, 35 – 41 Sitzplätze• Untere Stube – 9 Tische, 40 – 45 Sitzplätze

The Angerer Alm is a great place for celebrations. Whether private birthday parties, anniversaries, weddings, cosy family reunions or corporate events – we take care of your individual needs with great attention to detail. Our three salons have a total capacity for approx 100 people:

• The ‘Jagastube’ has 4 tables with seating for 20 – 24 people • The middle salon with tiled stove and open fire place offers a max of 9 tables, seating 35 – 41 people• The lower salon has space for 9 tables, seating 40 – 45 people

Wein und kreatives Design sind meine Passionen. Mit viel Liebe sind die Stuben der Angerer Alm über die Jahre zu einem kleinen Gesamtkunstwerk geworden. Erinnerungs-stücke aus unserer Vergangenheit, alte Bauernmöbel, der grün getäfelte Kachelofen, historische Bilder und viele andere Details schaffen die heimelige Atmosphäre, die einfach zum Bleiben einlädt.

Wine and creative design are my passions and as such the salons at the Angerer Alm have turned into a veritable work of art over the years – memorabilia from our past, antique country furniture, the green tiled stove, historic images from the region and many other lovingly collected details give the rooms a homely atmosphere – warm, intimate and inviting to stay.

Mein persönliches Kleinod ist der Weinkeller: Über 6.000 Flaschen von 400 Weingütern lagern darin und machen ihn mit Sicherheit zu einem der bestsortierten Weinkeller der Alpen. Nicht nur eine Vielzahl herrlicher Tischweine, die unsere Küche begleiten und abrunden, findet sich hier. Mittendrin gibt es auch echte Raritäten wie einen Madeira Jahrgang 1795 oder einen Massandra aus dem Zarenwein-keller. Als Diplom-Sommelière und Präsidentin des Österrei-chischen Sommelierverbands bin ich stolz auf meine Samm-lung und führe unsere Gäste auch gerne über die buckligen Steinstufen hinunter in mein Reich.

My personal treasure is the wine cellar: over 6,000 bottles from 400 wineries are stored here, making this one of the finest and best-stocked cellars anywhere in the Alps. In addition to the many expertly selected table wines, which accompany and complement our fabulous food, you’ll find some wonderful rarities such as a 1795 Madeira or a Massandra from the cellar of the Russian Tsar. As a Sommelier graduate and the President of the Austrian Association of Sommeliers I am very proud of my collection and also love to take our guests into my kingdom of wine – all the way down via some very bumpy stone steps!
