Annual Internal Training Plan






As an educational and training institution specialized in judicial and related studies,

ADJA seeks to support the judicial system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, by adopting

the best training and qualification programs, and by qualifying national judiciary

members and judicial assistants. ADJA is seated in the city of Abu Dhabi, and might

have other branches in the Emirate at the decision of the chairman and on the

recommendation of the council.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy has been established in 2007 as a specialized

educational and training institution that provides academic training to the judiciary

and to various institutions and entities operating inside and outside the country.

ADJA has been re-organized pursuant to decisions No. 14 and 15 of 2009 issued by

His Highness Chairman of ADJD on the organizational structure of the Academy.

Being a specialized educational and training institution with international standards

in judicial and legal education and training, ADJA fulfills all legal pedagogical and

specialized training needs of the members of the judiciary, candidate judges, and

judicial assistants; as well as all relevant law professionals in relation to

administrative and technical sciences from a comparative legal and international

perspective.

Vision:

ADJA works to be a pioneer in preparing judiciary members and judicial assistants

capable of lifting Abu Dhabi judicial system to a world position through achieving

fair and efficient justice in accordance with the best international practices, thus

making the Emirate of Abu Dhabi a global destination for the rule of law,

entrepreneurship, investment, and international legal leadership.

Mission:

We seek to provide training and educational services as necessary for creating basic,

specialized and continuous training programs for members of the judiciary and

judicial assistants at the national, regional and international levels to achieve the

rule of law and world class efficient justice.




Goals:

The Academy aims to build and develop the capacity of the judiciary members, their

assistants, all participants in the judicial and legal work, and law professionals by

providing them with the know-how, skills, experiences and latest trends to help

them carry out their work, so as to achieve the planned objectives of the judicial

institution and all legal bodies, towards the achievement of sustainable judicial

development. ADJA seeks to provides trainees with the knowledge, skills and codes

of conduct in accordance with best international comparative practices, with a view

to making them able to assume higher responsibilities and to improve the individual

and institutional performance of their judicial organizations.

Terms of reference:

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy works on preparing:

Programs for building and developing the capacity of the judiciary members,

at the basic and continuous training stages

Programs for building and developing the capacity of government lawyers

and all judicial assistants.

Programs for officers with judicial capacities and external law professionals of

public and private entities, which topics of study are determined according to

their needs and based on the restrictions set by ADJD.

Training programs for private sector law professionals, and legal courses for

non-law professional, based on its responsibility towards the society of the

Emirate of Abu Dhabi and for spreading the culture of rule of law.

Field and practical training for university students.

Based on its vital role, the Academy presents hereby its internal training plan for

2019, with a view to meet the training needs of ADJD in the legal, judicial,

administrative and technical aspects, with the possibility to implement further on-

demand programs beyond the set plan based on the instructions of the relevant

party and the judicial inspection Division and in accordance with the needs of the




courts, prosecution, related sectors. Such activities may be implemented at the seat

of ADJA, ADJD external premises, or in any hotels based on the regulatory rules.

Rules of nomination:

Based on the Academy Board decision No. 6 dated 18/5/2017, a minimum of 20

training hours annually shall be mandatory for all judiciary members, apart from the

compulsory nominations sent by the Judicial Inspection Division, the Judicial

Counsel Secretariat General, Courts or Public Prosecution; or from related sectors

and divisions in relation to judicial assistants. Latest legislations shall be taken into

consideration for the organization of mandatory training activities.

Nomination is made based on the official correspondence sent by the Judicial

Inspection Division, presidents of courts, Public Prosecution Technical Office, and

relevant directors.

Nominations should be sent on the Academy approved nomination form via e-mail.
