Older brother (hit by a bus 5 years ago) was carried in by two brothers wrapped in a blanket and shaking uncontrollably. They had to lay him on a bed next door to the meeting until prayer time. When prayer was made over him the effect was dramatic and immediate: it was as though he grew a foot in heightas his limp body regained strength, his eyes cleared and he walked from his chair to be changed for baptism!After baptism and receiving he stood and testified to the church: God has healedme! (imagine what that did to the atmosphere at the fellowship).

Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. According to recent data, 841 different languages are listed for the country, although 11 of these have no known living speakers. There may be at least as many traditional societies, out of a population of about 6.3 million. It is also one of the most rural, as only 18% of its people live in urban centres. After being ruled by three external powers since 1884, Papua New Guinea gained independence from Australia in 1975. It became a separate Commonwealthwith Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigning as theQueen of Papua New Guinea.
