2008 - We said we were going to listen more closely to our members, and we did. We were focused as strongly on retention and service to our members as recruitment. We believed that strengthening the base of the organization would be a natural way to build the effectiveness of our program which would make it a Chamber which would naturally attract more businesses. We (which means you, since the Chamber is its members) were able to do just that. For the third straight year, membership and net worth have once again increased, and we are proudly able to offer more quality of service to our members, based upon your feedback and support.

Member input comes to us in a variety of ways, whether feedback from events, articles or through direct contact. Your connection to the organization is largely through the volunteers that serve on our board, committees, and assist in various

We have utilized this year’s report to showcase the many ways we are “connected” to our members, and thus connect them to each other and the broader world marketplace. We have “plugged in” to our members and the larger community through participation in, and collaboration with, many other organizations. We continue to provide business resources, training and development opportunities, member awards and recognitions, shop local programs, networking events, communication and marketing pieces, and a multitude of other services to our members. We participate in governmental meetings, give

The Chamber is proud that we have 332 (7493 employees) members investing their time and resources into Wabash County, providing employment for our citizens and continuing to seek out new markets and technology. This is why we will persist in being “the birthplace of bright ideas” (an apt phrase my invaluable assistant, Beth Miller, used in describing our county when
