An internal combustion engine driven by a mixture of air and gas.

An internal combustion engine that uses the heat of highly compressed air to ignite a spray of fuel. Dual Fuel = can be switch to gas with pilot fuel

Pemasukan udara alamiah, tanpa turbocharger. Bila memakai turbocharger, tidak menggunakan intercooler

PLTD Kecil adalah PLTD yang menggunakan SPD berkapasitas: 250 – 300 kW, 500 – 600 kW, 750 – 900 kW, 1000 – 1200 kW


Mesin 4 langkah dengan jumlah silinder maksimum 12 buah

Pemasukan udara dengan turbocharger dan intercooler

Pendinginan dengan radiator

Dijalankan dengan compressed air starting

Compressed air bottle berkapasitas sedikitnya untuk 6 kali menjalankan (start) mesin

Radiator ditempatkan diluar gedung dan mempunyai aliran udara vertikal

PLTD Sedang adalah PLTD yang menggunakan SPD berkapasitas 2500 – 3000 kW, 4000 – 4800 kW, 8000 – 8800 kW


Mesin 4 langkah dengan jumlah silinder maksimum 16 buah

Pengisi udara menggunakan turbocharger dan intercooler

Pendinginan dapat mengunakan radiator, cooling tower, pendinginan langsung (dengan air sungai, laut, danau)




Generator bertegangan 6300 V atau lebih tinggi dengan maksimum 11000 V

PLTD Sedang

PLTD besar adalah PLTD yang menggunakan SPD berkapasitas 12000 kW dan lebih besar


Mesin 4 atau 2 langkah dengan jumlah silinder maksimum 18 buah

Pengisi udara menggunakan turbocharger dan intercooler

Pendinginan dapat mengunakan radiator, cooling tower, pendinginan langsung (dengan air sungai, laut, danau)

Performance of I.C. Engines

i) Indicted Power: The total power developed by the consumption of fuel in the combustion chamber is called indicated power.
