Acknowledgment

The researcher would like to extend his deepest gratitude to all individuals

contributed in making this study possible through their time, effort and cooperation

which were useful as instruments of the study.

To the head of the Municipal Planning and Development Council (MPDC) of

Talibon, Engr. Ednardo Avenido for allowing the researcher to conduct a study of the said

proposal and for providing documents and information needed in the study.

To head of the Municipal Engineering Department, Engr. Lorenzo Flores for

giving also documents and information to be used in the study.

To the traffic personnel of Talibon for helping and guiding the researcher

acquiring the numbers of buses during its actual bus counting and observation in the

existing bus terminal in Talibon.

To the people of Talibon who help the researcher in acquiring data in relation to

the study by giving their time and effort during the distribution of questionnaires.

To my family in Talibon for their selfless support being in my side during my visit

in the site and for providing guidance and enlightenment.

7. Abstract:

The main objective of the study is to provide solution to the problem in the

existing bus terminal of Talibon and the option through the site as identified is to

construct a new bus terminal.

Working with this objective, the following has to be achieved:

1. What is the demand of an Integrated Bus Terminal in Talibon?

2. How acceptable is the site at Barangay San Jose, Talibon, Bohol?

3. How accessible is the proposed site to you?

vi4. What is the affordability level of the terminal fees in the proposed project?

5. What amenities should be included in the design of the proposed project?

6. Is the proposed project in compliance with the National Building Code and other

existing local codes?

Methodology:

Descriptive nominative type of survey to determine the status and condition of

the existing bus terminal in Talibon. This was use to asses and to understand the

sentiments of the people affected by the proposed project. Descriptive nominative of the

demographics of Brgy. San Jose was undertaken. Survey on related literature in relation

to bus terminal was also used. Websites from the internet and statistical survey were used

as reference to produce information that will support and enhance the study.

The researcher also used clerical tools in the study such as survey questionnaires.

The questionnaires was design relative to the range of view of the study. These were

distributed to the local residents of Talibon, drivers and traffic personnel of the town.

Personal interview with the use of interview guide were also made by the

researcher to be able to gather factual data from the local appointed officials of Talibon.

The researcher also made an observation of the existing bus terminal of the town as to

what are the systems they are implementing in terms of bus and passengers

accommodation as part of the habitual practice in the terminal.

The researcher also use mechanical tools such as cell phone to have

communication to some authorized personnel that can give information about the study,

computer for the encoding of the manuscripts and camera for the actual proof with

vii regards to the condition of the existing bus terminal in the Talibon and the existing site.

Findings

Base on the data gathered, the researcher came up with the following findings:

1. That the there is a high a demand for a new bus terminal in the town.

2. That the proposed site which is in Brgy. San Jose, Talibon is acceptable to

the public.

3. That the proposed project is feasible in terms of accessibility and

affordability level.

4. That there was a high demand for the following amenities;

a. Eatery

b. Comfort rooms

5. That the proposed building is in compliance with the National Building

Code and existing local codes.

Conclusion:

Therefore, the researcher concluded that the proposed project is feasible in levels

of demand, acceptability, site accessibility and affordability.

Recommendation

The following recommendations were identified by the researcher after all data

were gathered and analyzed for further improvement of the study:

viii1. Building management must create and draft rules and regulations of what will be

prohibited or not in the area;

2. There should be a strict control on rentable spaces in terms of its maintenance and

its use.

3. Terminal fees should be studied well by the officials to have a legitimate but

affordable rates;

4. There should be space allocated for its future expansion and that space is the lot

beside the proposed site which number is LOT 3609;

5. There must be a review on plans in accordance and guidance of a professional of

each specialized field;

6. Development of an architectural solution is recommended.
