Questo manuale fornisce le informazioni principali perle procedure di normale intervento sul veicolo.

Le informazioni e le illustrazioni che compongono que-sto manuale, sono aggiornate al momento della divul-

gazione del manuale stesso. Questa pubblicazione indirizzata ai Concessionari

apriliae ai loro meccanici qualificati; molte nozioni sonostate volutamente omesse, perch giudicate superflue.Non essendo possibile includere nozioni meccanichecomplete in questa pubblicazione, le persone che uti-lizzano questo manuale devono essere in possesso siadi una preparazione meccanica di base, che di una co-noscenza minima sulle procedure inerenti ai sistemi diriparazione dei motoveicoli. Se necessario far funzionare il motore per poter effet-tuare qualche operazione, assicurarsi che questo avven-ga in uno spazio aperto o in un locale ben ventilato. Nonfare mai funzionare il motore in spazi chiusi.Se si opera in uno spazio chiuso, utilizzare un sistema dievacuazione dei fumi di scarico.

PERICOLOI fumi di scarico contengono ossido di carbonio, ungas velenoso che puprovocare la perdita di cono-scenza e anche la morte.

Far funzionare il motore in uno spazio aperto o, se si ope-ra in uno spazio chiuso, utilizzare un sistema di evacua-zione dei fumi di scarico.

Operare in uno spazio ben ventilato. Tenere sigarette,fiamme o fonti di scintille lontano dalla zona di lavoro e

dalla zona in cui il carburante viene conservato.

PERICOLOIl carburante altamente infiammabile e in alcunecondizioni diventa esplosivo.

TENERE LONTANO DALLA PORTATA DEI BAMBINI.

PERICOLO

Il motore e i componenti dellimpianto di scarico di-ventano molto caldi e rimangono caldi per un certoperiodo anche dopo che il motore stato spento. Pri-ma di maneggiare questi componenti, indossareguanti isolanti o attendere fino a che il motore e lim-pianto di scarico si sono raffreddati.

PERICOLOUtilizzare guanti in lattice per le operazioni di manu-tenzione che prevedono il contatto con lolio. Lolioesausto del motore, se viene ripetutamente lasciato a

contatto con la pelle per periodi prolungati, pucau-sare il cancro della pelle. Sebbene questo sia impro-babile, a meno che non si maneggi olio esausto quo-t idianamente, si consigl ia di lavare le maniaccuratamente con acqua e sapone nel caso vengamaneggiato.


ATTENZIONEIl liquido freni pudanneggiare le parti verniciate, in

plastica o in gomma. Quando si effettuano interventisullimpianto frenante, posare un panno da officinapulito su detti componenti.


In alcune condizioni, il glicole etilenico contenuto nel liqui-do refrigerante del motore infiammabile e la sua fiammainvisibile, ma ci si pubruciare ugualmente.

PERICOLONon versare il liquido refrigerante del motore sullim-pianto di scarico o sui componenti del motore. Po-trebbero essere abbastanza caldi da provocare lac-censione del liquido refrigerante, che brucia confiamma invisibile.Il liquido refrigerante (glicole etilenico) puprovoca-re irritazione della pelle e se ingerito velenoso.


Non rimuovere il tappo di riempimento quando il mo-tore caldo. Il liquido refrigerante sotto pressione epotrebbe causare ustioni.

PERICOLOLa batteria emette gas esplosivi; tenere sigarette,fiamme e fonti di scintille lontano dalla batteria stes-sa. Assicurarsi che ci sia una ventilazione adeguataquando si attiva o si ricarica la batteria.

La batteria contiene acido solforico (elettrolita). Ilcontatto con la pelle o con gli occhi puprovocaregravi ustioni. Si raccomanda di indossare indumentiprotettivi e uno schermo per il viso.In caso di contatto dellelettrolita con la pelle, risciac-quare immediatamente con abbondante acqua. Incaso di contatto dellelettrolita con gli occhi, risciac-quare con abbondante acqua per almeno 15 minuti e

consultate immediatamente un medico.

Lelettrolita velenoso.In caso di ingestione, bere grandi quantitdi acqua olatte e poi latte di magnesia od olio vegetale e consul-tare immediatamente un medico.


Quando si esegue la riparazione, lo smontaggio e il ri-montaggio del veicolo attenersi scrupolosamente alle se-guenti raccomandazioni.

PERICOLOPer qualsiasi tipo di operazione vietato l'uso di vivafiamma.Prima di iniziare qualsiasi intervento di manutenzio-ne o ispezione al veicolo, arrestare il motore e toglie-re la chiave, attendere che motore e impianto di scari-co si siano raffreddati, sollevare possibilmente ilveicolo, con apposita attrezzatura, su pavimento soli-do e in piano. Porre particolare attenzione alle partiancora calde del motore e dell'impianto di scarico, inmodo tale da evitare ustioni.Il veicolo costruito con parti non commestibili; nonmordere, succhiare, masticare o ingerire nessunaparte dello stesso per nessun motivo.Se non espressamente descritto, il rimontaggio dei

gruppi segue in senso inverso le operazioni di smon-taggio. Leventuale sovrapposizione di operazioni neivari rimandi ad altri capitoli deve essere interpretatacon logica, evitando cosrimozioni non necessarie dicomponenti. Non utilizzare mai il carburante comesolvente per la pulizia del veicolo.Scollegare il cavo negativo () della batteria, in casosi debbano eseguire saldature elettriche. Quandodue o pipersone lavorano contemporaneamente,prestare attenzione alla sicurezza di ciascuno.

PRIMA DELLO SMONTAGGIO

Rimuovere lo sporco, il fango, la polvere e i corpi estra-nei dal veicolo prima dello smontaggio dei componenti.

Impiegare, dove previsto, gli attrezzi speciali progettatiper questo veicolo.

SMONTAGGIO DEI COMPONENTI

Contrassegnare le posizioni su tutti i giunti di connes-sioni (tubi, cavi, ecc.) prima di dividerli e identificarli consegni distintivi differenti.Ogni pezzo va segnato chiaramente per poter essereidentificato in fase di installazione.

Pulire e lavare accuratamente i componenti smontati,con detergente a basso grado di infiammabilit.

Tenere insieme le parti accoppiate tra di loro, perchsisono "adattate" l'una all'altra in seguito alla normaleusura. Alcuni componenti devono essere utilizzati as-

sieme oppure sostituiti completamente. Tenersi lontani da fonti di calore.

RIMONTAGGIO DEI COMPONENTI

ATTENZIONENon riutilizzare mai un anello elastico, quando vienesmontato deve essere sostituito con uno nuovo.Quando si monta un anello elastico nuovo, fare atten-

zione a non allontanare le sue estremitpidellostretto necessario per infilarlo sullalbero. Dopo ilmontaggio di un anello elastico, verificare che siacompletamente e saldamente inserito nella sua sede.

Non utilizzare aria compressa per la pulizia dei cusci-netti.

IMPORTANTE I cuscinetti devono ruotare libera-mente, senza impuntamenti e/o rumorosit, altrimenti de-vono essere sostituiti.

Utilizzare esclusivamente RICAMBI ORIGINALI aprilia. Attenersi all'impiego dei lubrificanti e del materiale di

consumo consigliato.

Lubrificare le parti (quando possibile) prima di rimon-tarle.

Nel serraggio di viti e dadi, iniziare con quelli di diame-tro maggiore oppure quelli interni, procedendo in diago-nale. Eseguire il serraggio con passaggi successivi, pri-ma di applicare la coppia di serraggio.

Sostituire sempre le guarnizioni, gli anelli di tenuta, glianelli elastici, gli anelli O-Ring (OR) e le copiglie con altrinuovi.Pulire tutti i piani di giunzione, i bordi dei paraolio e leguarnizioni prima del rimontaggio.Applicare un leggero velo di grasso a base di litio suibordi dei paraolio.Rimontare i paraolio e i cuscinetti con il marchio o nume-ro di fabbricazione rivolti verso l'esterno (lato visibile).

Quando si montano i cuscinetti, lubrificarli abbondante-mente.

Controllare che ogni componente sia stato montato inmodo corretto.

Dopo un intervento di riparazione o di manutenzioneperiodica, effettuare i controlli preliminari e collaudare ilveicolo in una proprietprivata o in una zona a bassaintensitdi circolazione.

NORME PER LA CONSULTAZIONE Questo manuale suddiviso in capitoli, per ognuno dei

quali corrisponde una categoria di componenti princi-pali. Per la consultazione, fare riferimento all'indice ge-nerale, pag. 12 (INDICE GENERALE).

Se non espressamente descritto, il riassemblaggio deigruppi segue in senso inverso le operazioni di smontaggio.

I termini destrae sinistrasono riferiti al pilota sedutosul veicolo in normale posizione di guida.

Consultare il libretto USO E MANUTENZIONEperluso del veicolo e le normali operazioni di manutenzio-ne.

Le operazioni precedute da questo simbolo devo-no essere ripetute dal lato opposto del veicolo.

Este manual suministra las informaciones principalespara los procedimientos de intervencin corriente.

Las informaciones y las ilustraciones que forman partede este manual, estn puestas al da en el momento de

la divulgacin del mismo. Esta publicacin se dirige a los Concesionarios apriliay a sus mecnicos calificados. Muchas nociones hansido omitidas voluntariamente, porque consideradassuperfluas. Como no se han podido incluir nocionesmecnicas completas en esta publicacin, las perso-nas que utilizan este manual deben poseer tanto unapreparacin mecnica bsica, como de un conoci-miento mnimo de los procedimientos inherentes a lossistemas de reparacin de los vehculos de motor. Sinestos conocimientos, la reparacin o el control del ve-hculo podra ser ineficiente o peligrosa.Como no se describen detalladamente todos los pro-cedimientos para la reparacin y el control del vehcu-lo, es preciso que ponga particular cuidado a fin de evi-

Si es necesario hacer funcionar el motor para poder efec-tuar alguna operacin, asegrese de que esto se realiceen un espacio abierto o en un local bien ventilado. Nohaga funcionar nunca el motor en espacios cerrados.Si acta en un espacio cerrado, utilice un sistema de eva-cuacin de los humos de escape.

PELIGROLos humos de escape contienen xido de carbono, ungas venenoso que puede ocasionar la prdida del co-nocimiento y aun la muerte.

Haga funcionar el motor en un espacio abierto o, si actaen un espacio cerrado, utilice un sistema de evacuacinde los humos de escape.

Acte en un espacio bien ventilado. Mantenga cigarrillos,

llamas o fuentes de chispas lejos de la zona de trabajo yde la zona en la cual se conserva el combustible.

PELIGROEl combustible es muy inflamable y en algunas condi-ciones se vuelve explosivo.

MANTENGASE LEJOS DEL ALCANCE DE LOS NIOS.

PELIGROEl motor y los componentes de la instalacin de esca-pe se vuelven muy calientes y quedan calientes du-

rante cierto periodo de tiempo aun tras haber apagadoel motor. Antes de manejar estos componentes, lleveguantes aislantes o espere a que el motor y la instala-cin de escape se hayan enfriado.

PELIGROUtilice guantes de ltex para las operaciones de man-tenimiento que implican el contacto con el aceite. Elaceite gastado del motor, si lo se deja repetidamente

en contacto con la piel durante largos periodos detiempos, puede producir el cncer de la piel. Aunqueesto sea improbable, a menos que se maneje diaria-mente aceite gastado , se aconseja que se lave las ma-nos con agua y jabn tras haberlo manejado.


ATENCIONEl lquido frenos puede daar las piezas pintadas, deplstico o goma. Durante las intervenciones en la ins-talacin de frenado, ponga un pao limpio de taller so-

bre dichos componentes.MANTENGASE LEJOS DEL ALCANCE DE LOS NIOS.

En algunas condiciones, el glicol etilnico contenido en ellquido refrigerante del motor es inflamable y su llama esinvisible, pero es posible quemarse igualmente.

PELIGRONo vierta el lquido refrigerante del motor en la insta-lacin de escape o en los componentes del motor, yaque stos podran estar suficientemente calientespara producir el encendido del lquido refrigeranteque, al quemarse, emite una llama invisible.

El lquido refrigerante (glicol etilnico) puede causarirritacin de la piel y si es tragado es venenoso.


No quite el tapn de llenado cuando el motor estca-liente. El lquido refrigerante estbajo presin y po-dra ocasionar ustiones.

PELIGROLa batera emite gases explosivos; mantenga cigarri-

llos, llamas y fuentes de chispas lejos de la bateramisma. Al activar o recargar la batera, asegrese deque la ventilacin sea adecuada.

La batera contiene cido sulfrico (electrolito). Elcontacto con la piel o con los ojos puede ocasionargraves lesiones. Se recomienda que lleve vestidos deproteccin y una mscara para la cara.En caso de que el electrolito llegue a contacto con lapiel, enjuague de inmediato con mucha agua. Si elelectrolito llega a contacto con los ojos, enjuague conmucha agua durante por lo menos 15 minutos y dirja-se inmediatamente a un mdico.

El electrolito es venenoso.De ingerirlo, beba una gran cantidad de agua o leche,siga con leche de magnesia o aceite vegetal, luego di-rjase enseguida a un mdico.


Durante la reparacin, el desmontaje y el reensamblajedel vehculo atngase escrupulosamente a las recomen-daciones siguientes.

PELIGROPara cualquier tipo de operacin se prohbe el uso dellama viva.Antes de empezar cualquier intervencin de manteni-miento o inspeccin del vehculo, pare el motor y quitela llave, espere a que el motor y la instalacin de esca-pe se hayan enfriado, luego levante, si posible, el ve-hculo sobre un piso slido y llano por medio del equi-po apropiado. Tenga particular cuidado con las piezasan calientes del motor y de la instalacin de escape,a fin de evitar ustiones.El vehculo estfabricado con piezas no comestibles;no muerda, chupe, mastique ni trague ninguna partedel mismo por ninguna razn.De no resultar expresamente descrito, los grupos de-ben ser instalados siguiendo el orden inverso de lasoperaciones realizadas para el desmontaje. La even-tual superposicin de operaciones en las diferentesremisiones a otros captulos debe interpretarse conlgica, evitando asel intil desmontaje de componen-tes. No utilice nunca el combustible como disolventepara la limpieza del vehculo.Si se deben realizar soldaduras elctricas, desconecteel cable negativo (-) de la batera. Cuando dos o mspersonas trabajan simultneamente, ponga atencinen la seguridad de cada una de ellas.

ANTES DEL DESMONTAJE Elimine la suciedad, el barro, el polvo y los cuerpos ex-

traos del vehculo antes de desmontar los componen-tes.

Utilice, donde previsto, las herramientas especialesproyectadas para este vehculo.

DESMONTAJE DE LOS COMPONENTES

Marque las posiciones en todos los empalmes de co-nexin (tubos, cables, etc.) antes de dividirlos e identi-ficarlos con signos distintivos diferentes.Cada pieza debe ser marcada claramente para poder-la identificar en fase de instalacin.

Limpie y lave esmeradamente los componentes des-montados, utilizando un detergente con un bajo gradode inflamabilidad.

Mantenga unidas las piezas acopladas entre ellas, yaque se han adaptadola una a la otra a consecuenciadel desgaste normal. Unos componentes deben serutilizados juntos o sustituidos completamente.

Mantngase lejos de las fuentes de calor.

REENSAMBLAJE DE LOS COMPONENTES

ATENCIONNo reutilice nunca un anillo elstico: una vez desmon-tado debe ser sustituido con otro nuevo. Durante lainstalacin de un anillo elstico nuevo, ponga cuidadocon no alejar sus extremidades ms de lo estrictamen-te necesario para introducirlo en el rbol. Tras haberinstalado un anillo elstico, compruebe que estintro-ducido completa y firmemente en su alojamiento.

No utilice aire comprimido para la limpieza de los co-jinetes.

IMPORTANTE Los cojinetes deben girar libremen-te, sin atascamientos y/o ruidos; en caso contrario debenser sustituidos.

Utilice exclusivamente REPUESTOS ORIGINALESaprilia.

Atngase al empleo de los lubricantes y del material deconsumo aconsejado.

Lubrique las piezas (cuando es posible) antes de ins-talarlas.

Para apretar los tornillos y las tuercas, empiece por losde dimetro mayor o por los interiores y prosiga diago-nalmente. Apritelos con pasadas sucesivas antes deaplicar el par de apriete.

Sustituya siempre las juntas, los aros tricos, los ani-llos elsticos, los anillos O-Ring (OR) y las clavijas conotros nuevos.Limpie todas las superficies de unin, los bordes de lossellos de aceite y las juntas antes de la instalacin.Aplique una sutil capa de grasa a base de litio sobre losbordes de los sellos de aceite.Vuelva a instalar los sellos de aceite y los cojinetes con

la marca o el nmero de fabricacin hacia el exterior(lado visible).Al montar los cojinetes, lubrquelos abundantemente.

Controle que cada componente estmontado correc-tamente.

Tras una operacin de reparacin o de mantenimientoperidico, realice los controles preliminares y pruebe elvehculo en una propiedad privada o en una zona conuna baja intensidad de circulacin.

NORMAS PARA LA CONSULTA

Este manual estsubdividido en captulos, a cada unode los cuales corresponde una categora de compo-nentes principales. Para su consulta haga referencia al

ndice general, pg. 13 (INDICE GENERAL). De no resultar expresamente descrito, hay que realizar

la instalacin de los grupos siguiendo en orden contra-rio las operaciones que se han efectuado para el des-montaje.

Los trminos derechae izquierdase refieren al pilo-to sentado sobre el vehculo en la posicin normal deconduccin.

Para las operaciones de normal mantenimiento y usodel vehculo, consulte el manual de USO Y MANTENI-MIENTO.

Hay que repetir las operaciones precedidas poreste smbolo en el lado opuesto del vehculo.

En este manual las variantes estn indicadas con los si-guientes smbolos:

This manual supplies the main information for normalservicing procedures.

The information and illustrations contained in this ma-nual are updated to the moment of its publication.

This publication is intended for the apriliaDealers andtheir qualified engineers; many notions were voluntarilyomitted, because they were considered superfluous.Since it is not possible to include complete mechanicalinformation in this publication, the persons using thismanual must have a basic mechanical training and abasic knowledge of the procedures regarding motor ve-hicles repair systems. Without this knowledge, the re-pair or servicing of the vehicle may be ineffective oreven dangerous.The manual does not describe all the procedures forthe repair and servicing of the vehicle in detail, there-fore it is important to be particularly careful, in order toavoid any damage to components and persons.

WARNINGGasoline is extremely flammable and becomes explo-sive under certain conditions.

WARNINGThe engine and the components of the exhaust sys-tem become very hot and remain hot for some timeafter the engine has been stopped. Before handlingthese components, wear insulating gloves or wait un-til the engine and the exhaust system have cooleddown.

WARNINGUse latex gloves for the maintenance operations thatrequire contact with used oil. Used engine oil maycause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with

the skin for prolonged periods. Although this is un-likely unless you handle used oil on a daily basis, it isadvisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soapand water after handling used oil.


CAUTIONThe brake fluid can damage painted, plastic or rubberparts. When performing maintenance operations onthe braking system, put a clean shop towel on these

parts.


In certain conditions, the ethylene glycol contained in theengine coolant is flammable: its flame is invisible, but youcan be burned anyway.

WARNINGAvoid spilling the engine coolant on the exhaust sys-tem or on the engine components. They may be hot

enough to cause the coolant to ignite and burn with-out a visible flame.The coolant (ethylene glycol) can cause skin irritationand is poisonous if swallowed.


Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine ishot. The coolant is under pressure and may causeburns.

WARNINGThe battery gives off explosive gases; keep ciga-

rettes, flames and sparks away from the battery. Pro-vide adequate ventilation when operating or recharg-ing the battery.

The battery contains sulphuric acid (electrolyte).Contact with the skin or the eyes may cause seriousburns. It is advisable to wear protective clothing anda face shield.

In case of contact with the skin, flush immediatelywith plenty of water. In case of contact with the eyes,flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes andconsult a doctor without delay.

The electrolyte is poisonous.If the electrolyte is accidentally swallowed, drinklarge quantities of water or milk and then milk ofmagnesia or vegetable oil and consult a doctor with-out delay.


Follow with care these recommendations when repairing,disassembling and reassembling the vehicle.

WARNINGThe use of naked flames is forbidden for any type ofoperation.Before commencing any service or inspection opera-tion on the vehicle, switch off the engine and removethe key, wait until the engine and the exhaust systemhave cooled down and, if possible, raise the vehiclewith the suitable equipment onto firm flat ground.In order to avoid burns, be careful not to touch anyparts of engine or exhaust system which have notcooled down completely.The vehicle is constructed of inedible parts.Do not bite, suck, chew or swallow any part of the ve-hicle for any reason whatever.If not expressly described, the reassembly of the

units is carried out by reversing the order of opera-tions.Handle fuel with the greatest caution.Never use fuel as a solvent for cleaning the vehicle.Disconnect the negative cable () from the batterywhen electric welding.When two or more persons are working together,make sure that each is working in safe conditions.

BEFORE DISASSEMBLY

Remove any dirt, mud, dust and foreign matters fromthe vehicle before disassembling the components.

Use, when necessary, the special tools designed forthis vehicle.

DISASSEMBLING THE COMPONENTS

Before disconnecting the joints (pipes, cables, etc.),mark the positions on all of them and mark them withdifferent distinguishing signs.Each piece must be marked clearly, in order not tohave problems during installation.

Clean and wash carefully any disassembled parts withlow inflammability detergents.

Keep the parts that are used in pairs together, sincethey have adapted to each other following the normalwear. Some components must be used together or re-placed completely.

Keep away from heat sources.

REASSEMBLING THE COMPONENTS

CAUTIONNever use a circlip twice. When a circlip is removed,it must be replaced with a new one.When assembling a new circlip be careful not to

stretch its ends more than strictly necessary to put iton the shaft.After installing a circlip, make sure that it is com-pletely and firmly inserted in its seat.

Do not use compressed air to clean the bearings.

NOTE The bearings must rotate freely, without haltinga/o noise otherwise they must be replaced.

Use only original apriliaSPARE PARTS. Use the recommended lubricants. Whenever possible, lubricate the parts before reas-

sembly. When tightening screws and nuts, begin with those

having greater diameters or with inner ones, proceed-ing diagonally.Tighten screws or nuts in successive passages beforeapplying driving torque.

Always replace gaskets, grommets, circlips, O-ringsand split pins with new ones.Before the assembly, clean all the connection surfaces,the oil seal edges and the gaskets.Apply a thin layer of lithium-based grease on the oilseal edges.Put back the oil seals and the bearings with the markor serial number facing towards the outside (visibleside).When installing the bearings, lubricate them abundant-

ly. Make sure that each component has been reassem-

bled correctly. After a repair or periodic maintenance operation, carry

out the preliminary checks and test the vehicle in a pri-vate area or, in any case, in a low-traffic area.

consult them, see the general index, p. 14 (TABLE OFCONTENTS).

If not expressly indicated otherwise, for the reassemblyof the units repeat the disassembly operations in re-verse order.

The terms right and left are referred to the riderseated on the vehicle in the normal riding position.

For normal maintenance operations and for the use ofthe vehicle, consult the USE AND MAINTENANCEmanual.

In tabella sono riportate le coppie di serraggio standardper viti e bulloni con filettatura metrica ISO.Per giunti o accoppiamenti specifici del veicolo in oggettovedi pag. 17 (COPPIE DI SERRAGGIO).

Se non diversamente specificato, le coppie di serraggiosono riferite a filettature pulite, asciutte e a temperaturaambiente.

IMPORTANTE Per evitare possibili deformazioni e/o accoppiamenti imperfetti procedere al serraggio delleviti o dei bulloni come di seguito descritto:

Avvitare manualmente tutti gli elementi di fissaggio. Applicando metdella coppia di serraggio prevista,

serrare gli elementi diametralmente opposti: (A) e (B);(C) e (D).

Ripetere la precedente operazione applicando la cop-pia di serraggio prevista.

IMPORTANTE In questo modo la pressione eserci-tata dagli elementi di fissaggio saruniformemente distri-buita sulla superficie del giunto.

La operacin de desconexin de dos conectores elctri-cos debe realizarse del modo siguiente:

Si estn presentes, presione los enganches de seguri-dad correspondientes.

ATENCIONPara desconectar los dos conectores no tire de los ca-bles.

Agarre los dos conectores y tire de ellos, el uno en elsentido opuesto respecto al otro, para desconectarlos.

En caso de suciedad, herrumbre, humedad, etc... lim-pie esmeradamente el interior del conector utilizandoun chorro de aire bajo presin.

Asegrese de que los cables estn engrapados co-rrectamente en los terminales interiores de los conec-tores.

IMPORTANTE Los dos conectores tienen un solo

sentido de introduccin y deben ser orientados hacia elpunto de acoplamiento en el sentido correcto.

introduzca sucesivamente los dos conectores y aseg-rese de que el acoplamiento sea correcto (si los en-ganches de seguridad estn presentes, se oirel tpicoclick).

The disconnection of two electrical connectors must becarried out by proceeding as follows:

Press the appropriate safety couplings, if provided.

CAUTIONDo not pull the cables to disconnect the two connec-tors.

Grasp the two connectors and disconnect them by pull-ing in opposite directions.

If dirt, rust, dampness, etc. can be noticed, carefullyclean the inside of the connector by means of a pres-surized air jet.

Make sure that the cables are correctly crimped to theterminals positioned inside the connectors.

NOTE The two connectors have one insertion directiononly, therefore it is important to couple them in the correctdirection.

Insert the two connectors, making sure that the cou-pling direction is correct (if the appropriate safety cou-plings are provided, the typical clicksound will beheard).

The following table indicates the standard driving torquesfor screws and bolts with metric ISO thread.For specific joints or couplings of the vehicle, see p. 17

(DRIVING TORQUE).

If not specified otherwise, the indicated driving torques

are valid for clean and dry threads, at room temperature.

NOTE In order to avoid any deformation and/or imper-fect coupling, tighten the screws or bolts by proceeding asdescribed below:

Manually screw all the fastening elements. Applying half the prescribed driving torque, tighten the

elements that are diametrically opposite each other:(A) and (B); (C) and (D).

Repeat the previous operation by applying the pre-scribed driving torque.

NOTE In this way the pressure exerted by the fasten-ing elements will be uniformly distributed on the joint sur-face.
