INTRODUCTION The symbols shown below are used in this instruction book to draw attention to specific details.

USEFUL INFORMATION ON STEAM CLEANING: Water, in the form of steam, allows for an environment-friendly and more thorough cleaning than with modern detergents. Like steam, water is used sparingly. Due to its very high temperature and considerable capacity, the steam produced by the appliance provides for thorough cleaning, dissolving grease and dust particles that are usually difficult to eliminate. The steam cleans and sanitizes eliminating bacteria, mites, germs, and pathogenic agents, collects dust particles together and prevents the development of dust-related allergies. Thanks to your steam cleaner, you can take now advantage of all this while doing your housework as well as giving your contribution to environment protection.

Attention! This instruction book is an integral part of the equipment. Please read the instruction book carefully before turning on the appliance Keep the instruction book for consultation whenever necessary!

Warning! In the interest of safety, be extremely careful

Never use the appliance to clean electrical equipment or plugs. Never have wet hands or feet wet when the appliance is connected. Never put the appliance into any type of liquid. Never empty the boiler when the water inside is still hot. Never leave the equipment unattended when it is connected to the power or when it is on. Only authorized service centers should be used for any repair. The electrical cable can only be replaced by an authorized service center. Never direct the steam jet towards people or animals. • PRACTICAL ADVICE

Always ensure that using the steam cleaner is suitable for the materials or the surfaces to be cleaned. Follow the manufacturers instructions as regards the cleaning of materials. If there is no information available, always carry out a test on a less visible part of the material. In the event of damage, do not use the steam cleaner. Always use the recommended accessories. Always apply a cotton cloth to the brushes to avoid scratches. Always work from the top downwards on vertical surfaces. Place a cloth under the surface to be cleaned to collect dirt. Use the extension tubes only when necessary. Spray steam on small surfaces each time. Once the dirt has dissolved, it is much easier to remove. For more stubborn dirt, treat the surfaces directly with the steam jet. To clean stains from upholsters or from carpets and rugs, spray the steam on to the area to be cleaned and then go over lightly with the triangular brush, without pressing down. Leave the surface to be treated to dry, and then check if the stain has disappeared. If the outcome is unsatisfactory, repeat the opera-tion. For delicate surfaces such as wood, spray on a little steam and leave to dry. Rugs must first be cleaned with the vacuum, and then with the steam cleaner.

  • CLEANING WINDOWS

When the outside temperature is around freezing point, the glass of the window should be quickly sprayed with the steam at a distance of at least 30 cm. Then spray the steam on the entire surface of the glass to compensate the sudden change in temperature and to avoid pressure on the glass surface. Sudden changes in temperature between the glass of the window and the steam may cause the glass to break. ATTACHING THE GLASS-CLEANER >Press the spring button (18) on the handle of the steam nozzle (16) or on the extension tube (17). >Insert the glass-cleaner on the tube (17) or on the handle of the steam nozzle (16) until the spring button (18) is released.

Windows that are very dirty must first be cleaned with either the small or big brush and the cloth. Then clean the window with the glass cleaner. After each cleaning, clean the rubber band of the glass-cleaner with a clean cloth. Only with a cleaned and tight band is it possible to clean the window without smudges. >Spray the steam on the window from top to bottom. >Remove the dirt with a rubber sponge while pressing lightly. >Leave to dry by resting the rubber band of the glass-cleaner on the side of the window.

Never use with wet hands or feet. Always remove the plug from the socket before connecting the iron. The steam tube should never touch the hot plate of the iron or any sharp objects or corners. Place the iron only on the designed base. Never leave the iron unattended and connected to the appliance.

    Warning!

Mites are parasites invisible to the naked eye, respon-sible for annoying allergies. They feed on diverse or-ganic remains and for this reason their ideal habitat is amidst the folds of mattresses, blankets, rugs and car-pets. Mites live in large colonies, especially in Springtime. Just imagine that in one gram of dust, you can find as many as 15.000 mites!

  • IRONING WITH THE PROFESSIONAL IRON

Follow the ironing instructions for the laundry or the clothes >Direct the first steam jet onto a separate cloth. >During ironing, press the steam button only at a suitable distance. >Let the iron slide lightly over the laundry. No excessive pressure is required. >Always iron on an iron surface that is permeable to steam and heat-resistant. >Select the ironing temperature according to the type of material. Observe the instructions on the labels. >Always iron completely dry laundry to prevent further creases from forming. >Iron delicate clothes inside out. >Adjust the required temperature on the temperature thermostat (4/A) of the iron. >Set the steam intensity regulator to 2/3. >Spray steam on the garment hung at a distance of about 20 cm. >For delicate materials, it is recommended that you place a clean cotton cloth over the garment before steam spraying

    WORKING WITH STEAM CLEANING

At the start of either cleaning or ironing, or after a long period of inactivity, it is recommended that you spray some steam on a separate cloth to eliminate any possible water residuals from the steam tube. For effective cleaning, the steam intensity is essential and not the pressure applied on the accessory. >Adjust the steam intensity on the steam regulator (9). >Press the button (15) on the handle of the steam nozzle to release the steam. >Direct the steam jet towards the surface to be cleaned. >Clean the dirty surface evenly with the floor-polisher. >For more stubborn dirt, rub a little without pressing on the brush. >Collect the dissolved dirt with a cloth.

  • MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning, remove the plug from the socket. Do not empty the boiler if there is still hot water inside. To prevent any accumulation of limestone from forming, it is recommended that you empty and rinse the boiler with tap water at least once a month (it is possible to empty the appliance in a vertical position) To prevent any limestone from accumulating in the water, use the decalcifier Cleansy according to the instruc-tions described on the product When long inactivity is expected, it is recommended that you empty the water in the boiler. Always leave both the equipment and the iron to cool before putting them away. The appliance is equipped with a kit of spare seals. Check the condition of the seals at regular intervals and re-place them, if necessary. WHEN PUTTING THE STEAM CLEANER AWAY It is possible to put the equipment away vertically by using the cable winder. >Remove the cable winder by rotating it downwards. >Insert the tubes in their specific holds and wind the electrical cable onto the outer wings. It is possible to wind the electrical cable even without inserting the tubes. CLEANING Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or detergents. Never use solvents as they could damage the plastic areas of the appliance. Clean the iron plate when still warm with specific products available on the market. Clean the accessories only with water. Leave the cleaned brushes to dry with their bristles facing upwards to prevent warping.
