You can customize

menu – select OK

MAKE SURE you have selected this option and
then pick a point and head left. Type in 24 and
enter and you will have complete a wall 24’ in
length.

Head to the right
24 and then up 24
to complete the 4
walls of our cabin.
Select the midpoint of the
upper wall and head down 12
Head to the right
and pick – RIGHT
MOUSE CLICK and
select OK.

Select DOOR
from the tools
menu and then
select a door of
your choice and
select OK.
Pick
approximately as
shown. When you
see an eyeball
pick to the
inside for the
door to open in.

Select a door of
your choice for
the back door
and position as
you did the
entrance.
Next select
WINDOW and
select window
of your choice
(notice there
are
subdirectories
of choices)

your choice in the cabin
Go to the
PROJECT
BROWSER and
select GENERIC
PERSPECTIVE
Select the
ORBIT tool and
rotate drawing
into a position
of choice.

browser and
select or
double mouse
click on 1st
floor
Pick on the
select ARROW
and then
WINDOW the
cabin to select
everything
Go the file
DOCUMENT pull-
down and select
DOCUMENT
EXTRAS and the
AUTOMATIC
DIMENSIONING and then EXTERIOR DIMENSIONING

dimensioning from
the mid point of
doors & windows or
the endpoints –
select PLACE
DIMENSIONS on
FOUR SIDES and
then select OK
Select a
WALL and
then when
you see the
HAMMER this
is the
location for
the
dimensions –
pick on the outside of the building.

To inspect the
dimensions
Use the zoom
tools at the
bottom of the
screen. Zoom
all to continue
project.
Tap the ESC
key twice to
make sure we
do not have any
objects
selected
Double mouse
click on ROOF
and select OK

cabin sequentially
– you get feed
back when you
have the exact
corner picked
Make sure your roof
settings match as shown
and select OK.
Go to the project
browser and
select the
Generic
Perspective to
check the roof

Photo rendering
While we were creating our model ArchiCAD was
collecting the information for our drawing. This is
a BIM program – or BUILDING INFORMATION
MODELING – program.

can also change something once and it will change in all
of the documentation we have just looked at.

Go to FILE and then SAVEAS and check out all of
the difference drawing types available in ArchiCAD
Save the drawing in .dwg format (AutoCAD).
