Business ArchitectureWhat is it?

Business Architecture The organizational structure, behavior and design of a business entity (not necessarily related to computers). This covers business goals, business capabilities, business processes and roles etc. Business capabilities are often mapped to the people, process, tools and information for planning.

Application ArchitectureThe user facing (internal team members or external clients) structure and behavior of functional software used in business operations. In application portfolio management, the applications are usually mapped to business functions and to application platform technologies.

Information Architecture The data structures used by a business and/or its applications. These can be descriptions of data in storage and data in motion; which, includes data stores, data groups and data items. The mappings of those data artifacts to data qualities, applications, locations etc that describe a business “fact”.

Infrastructure ArchitectureThe technical structure and behavior of the software and hardware infrastructure. This covers the client and server nodes of the hardware configuration, the infrastructure applications that run on them, the infrastructure services they offer to applications, the protocols and networks.

What is the UX Pattern?Focused on UI technology, this artifacthouses the EIT standards and expectationsof modern web architecture. The businessneeds a similar UX Design artifact tofacilitate creation of UX Design deliverables(UX Target State Navigation, a UX Roadmap,etc).

Who owns UX?Business is accountable for driving UserExperience. There are multiple teams involvedin designing target state UX. Both businessand IT partner to deliver the modern UX.

What is UX?The end user’s overall experienceinteracting with all aspects with a company,its services and products.

How do projects align?TBD. There is a need for DesignGovernance to reinforce and redirect teamstowards target state solutions. This needsto include UX, business capability, processand information governance.

Who designs UX?Anyone that makes a decision that impactsinteraction between the user and the systemis affecting UX design by default. This includeseverything from approving a project scope tofixing a defect.
