PREFACE

On January 21 , 1933, the fnt docunent entid&d ·RehUion of Charges and Rules RelabV'e to Professional Fees• was promulgated and adoplad by lhe Pl1illppine Arc:hlt.>cts Society (PAS), the ~rst arc:hltecb.Jral association organized In tie Philpplnes. The seoond ecitlon of their document wu made on February 2 1, 1941

After the name of the organization was changed to ·Phll.~ine Institute ot Ardlltects• (PIA), a new Code ol E1111cs was published on April 7, t946. This was amencSed and a lou1h edition was ptmllshed In 1 GSO.

On November 25, 1960, attar re~x:amlnhg me Code ot Ethics, a new set of dorunents entitled 'National Code ol At<:111tecrs Services and Fees In the Pl1illppines" was publlsh<ld.

On Oclober 23. 1965, lf1e 'Architect's Nadonal Code" was opproved by the r>ree organizations exlsfng at that time. namely, r>e Phllppine lnsdb.Jte or Archileeto (PIA), 111<1 Lsa91JO or Phllppine Archllects (LPA), and the Association or Philippine Government Architects (APGA).

On January 15, 1975, the three archltecb..r.11 organizations were Integrated into one assodaSon called the ·umod Architects or the Phil""inos" (UAP).

In the process of consolidallng all the documents or the ttwee organizations, tie UAP saw the n&eel to review and update them In order to be more responsive to tie practice of lho profession in lhe Phi!Wines. The first <!raft of lho re\ltsed coda was J)<blished by lf1o UAP in Oclobor t9n.

In the continuilg exarrination of fle expaOOng practice of the architect, lhe UAP Committee on Professional Practice ~ch was tasked to prepare the fllal draft, decided to divide the Architects National Code ilto two civlsions, namely:
