Intercontinental Berchtesgaden Resort is the most luxury hotel in German Alps. With its 138 rooms and suites, exclusive The Mountain Spa, gastronomy and ser-vice level provided by over 150 employ-ees, it belongs to leading 5* Superior Hotels worldwide.

From IT viewpoint, the hotel offers multi-ple IT services to its guests and employ-ees, including high-speed internet con-nection, 90% WLAN coverage, interactive TV with 100+ TV channels, video on de-mand, high-tech conference areas, Digi-tal Signage systems and another systems served by 30+ physical and virtual serv-ers and 70+ workstations.

As the IT Manager, I was responsible over all IT infrastructure and equip-ment. My managerial duties involved primarily systems management, change management, people management, strategic and tactical plan-ning, budgeting, training and user support.

After 7 years of operation, when hotel’s IT technologies started getting obsolete, significant portion of my responsibilities included systems up-grade and renewal. To increase productivity, I have transitioned employ-ees to more efficient email and collaboration system (Google Apps) and upgraded key IT systems to more stable and productive versions.

To offer higher quality IT service, I have increased WiFi coverage from 16 to 90%, increased internet bandwidth by 600%, upgraded hotel infotain-ment systems (IPTV), and replaced all TV-sets to HD models.

From my own initiative, I have developed hotel’s Digital Signage system in C++. This system provides value to it’s quests on daily basis now. I have decreased some commodity supplies to 20% from its original price.

Kempinski Hotelliers is exclusive network of 80+ 5-star hotels located in the most beautiful desti-nations worldwide.

Kepinski Hotel River Park has been inde-pendently assessed as the fifth most luxurious hotel in the world. The hotel is categorized as a business hotel. From IT viewpoint it means that the hotel had to fulfill the highest IT standards and expectations of its business guests, who decided to work or stay overnight.

The hotel had 231 rooms, multiple conference rooms, restaurants, bars, large reception, and numerous offices, all equipped by the most mod-ern IT technologies and equipment.

At the time of accepting this project, the hotel was a construction in progress. I was hired to ensure that the hotel would meet the highest technological ex-pectations and IT standards.

My responsibility was to select the right technologies and prepare all IT systems for hotel operations. I de-signed local area network, first-installed all the serv-ers and workstations. I selected, communicated, and monitored implementation of all IT systems by 3-rd. parties.

Simultaneously with IT systems preparation, I trained hotel employees for all the in-house technologies.

Kempinski Palace Portoroz***** was the most luxurious hotel within Slovenia. I was invited by the hotel manage-ment during its construction phase to speed up IT systems deployment and to meet the hotel opening deadline.

I performed all tasks necessary to finish implementation of its key IT systems, such as: Cisco switches troubleshooting, mobile cashiers configuration, WiFi troubleshooting, guest room systems troubleshooting, file and print server configu-ration, workstations installation, etc..

At the end, all the systems were successfully configured and the hotel could enter its operations on opening date with-out any delays.

Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras was the first true 5-star hotel built in Slovakia. It was situated within the ex-clusive place of Slovak mountains—Strbske Pleso. I have joined this project during its development stage, when I was expected to implement the newest IT technologies satisfying even the highest expectations of its demanding guests.

The hotel had 119 rooms, restaurants, bars, conference rooms, SPA, reception, and offices. All of those were ser-viced by app. 20 servers and 60 workstations.

Besides LAN design and configuration and first-installation of servers and workstations, I have coordinated imple-mentation of systems such as: Video on Demand, TV sys-tem, microwave internet connection, WiFi, financial sys-tems, hospitality systems, attendance systems, etc...

Centre of Excellence EMEA Product Manager (Jan. 2007 – April 2008 )

Lenovo, which is one of the largest multinational technology companies, has opened its new admin-istration center in Slovakia, Bratislava. With the size of 600+ employees, it covers Lenovo activities within 128 countries of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA region).

Lenovo designs, develops, manufactures and sells per-sonal computers, tablet computers, smartphones, workstations, servers, electronic storage devices, IT management software and smart televisions.

As a product manager and a member of Centre of Excellence department, I was responsible for two Lenovo mainstream notebook series—T and R. Lenovo T-series were top class professional laptops. R-series notebooks were more mainstream units sold for more affordable price.

My responsibilities were to design notebook configu-rations for the whole EMEA region(128 countries) while taking into account cultural, preferential, eco-nomic and language differences.

After the design phase, I coordinated my products’ life cycles, from market introduction to products EOL. My goal was meeting customer needs within my 128 countries in order to maximize revenues and profits.

City University of Seattle is an international university based in Seattle, Washington, USA. In 2009, it enrolled over 7500 students worldwide. The university specializations include the School of Manage-ment, Albright School of Education, the Division of Arts/Sciences and Management Institute.

City University has its subsidiaries in numerous countries: Canada, Mexico, USA, Czech Republic, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, China, Vietnam, Australia. In Slovak Republic, City University of Seattle is located in two cities: Bratislava, Trenčín.

My employee status started as Assistant to IT Administrator in Trenčín while I studied MBA program. After MBA graduation, I was offered a new position of IT Manager for City University Slovakia, wich required to move to Bratislava. I have accepted.

As the IT Manager, I was responsible for IT systems within both subsidiaries, Bratislava and Trenčín. There was new subsidiary con-struction in progress in Bratislava. My task was selection and implementation of complete IT infrastructure into this new building.

I have designed the local area network, config-ured the active network components, installed workstations and servers, and trained all the users. I have negotiated and managed IT tech-nologies installed by third parties.

I was responsible for numerous IT projects. Many of them are listed in the Resume Appen-dix.
