Mission: To catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children. “Asha” represents the hope that we aim to bring into the lives of under-privileged children in India. Asha has a total of 66 chapters in USA, Canada, Europe, India, Singapore and Australia. Baby Seema, studying at Bharatiya Jan Seva Ashram (Jaunpur, U.P.) BJSA provides education for dalit children, and helps social and economic upliftment of dalits.Funds disbursed by Asha-Austin in 2003-04: $2220

Raja Shivaji Vidyalaya (Sindhudurg, Maharashtra) Provides high-school education for villages around Vilwade, Sindhudurg. Asha-Austin is seeking donations to support the development of a new science laboratory.

Prasanna Jyothi (Bangalore, Karnataka) An orphanage providing housing, food and education expenses to 18 girls.Funds disbursed by Asha-Austin in 2003-04: $ 3480

Asha Sikshan Sansthan (Ballia, UP) An Asha run school that provides primary education to socially and economically backward children, and trains women in knitting/tailoring, organic farming etc., to make them self-sustaining.Funds disbursed by Asha-Austin in 2003-04: $ 2945

Support-A-Child: This program makes it possible for an individual to sponsor the cost of education or total living expense for one underprivileged child in India. The aim is to support this child financially till he/she completes college or vocational education and is able to support himself/herself. You can become a sponsor for a child in India for as little as $10 a month.

Infrastructure Development: This program funds one-time infrastructure costs incurred by schools such as construction of school building, procurement of furniture for the school, renovation of science laboratory, etc.
