WHY AN «ENDANGERED LAWYERS» PROJECT?

ATTACKS ON LAWYERS OCCUR EVEN NOWADAYS EVERYWHERE THE WORLD.

THEY ARE INCREASING IN FREQUENCY.

MORE THAN 1000 LAWYERS AND LEGAL WORKERS HAVE BEEN KILLED OR DISAPPEARED IN THE PAST SEVERAL DECADES (SOURCE. INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE'S LAWYERS)

THERE IS A SPECIFIC FOUNDATION, CALLED "DAY OF THE ENDANGERED LAWYER", BORN IN ORDER TO CALL FOR ATTENTION ON A SPECIFIC DAY TO THREATENED HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYERS WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO ONE DESIGNATED COUNTRY.

“Governments shall ensure that lawyers are able to perform all of their professional functions without intimidation, hindrance, harassment or improper interference;

Lawyers shall not be identified with their clients or their clients' causes as a result of discharging their functions.”
