Kashmir region administered by Pakistan, Azad Kashmir borders the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the south and west respectively, Gilgit–Baltistan to the north and the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir to the east.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is a self-governing state under Pakistani control but is not constitutionally part of Pakistan

Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan took oath as President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 25 August 2011.He is S/O Sardar Gul Muhammad Khan born on 1953 in village of Poonch.

The official flag the State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir was adopted on 24th September 1975. The flag was adopted by the passing of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir State Flag Ordinance, 1975 by the then president, Sardar Mohammad Ibrahim Khan.

The literacy rate in Azad Kashmir was 62% in 2004, higher than in any other region in Pakistan. However, only 2.2% were graduates, compared to the average of 2.9% for the whole of Pakistan.

The males in the family are responsible for earning, and the women are mainly housewives. But there are working women also who mainly prefer the profession of teaching. Some women/men also have indulged themselves in the field of Agriculture and farming, for which they have to work day and night. They have to milk their buffalos and look after their crops.

The total population of the district according to the 1998 census was 395,000, which is estimated to have increased to 434,000 in 2003, with an annual growth rate of 2%.

There are minerals in Bagh such as deposits of slate Two floor mills, one at Kohala and other at Arja are

operative. They are mostly educated community and hold key

positions in religious as well as Government Sectors.Sudhan Tribal population is more than 10,000(belong to Afghanistan)

Hajira is approximately 15 km from Tatrinote and 142 km from Islamabad, Pakistan. It is situated in a narrow small valley surrounded by hills.

Hajira is a tehsil of Poonch district Hajira is in a valley and it is surrounded by green

hills and other villages. The total population of Hajira and enclosed villages is almost 80,000.

Latency rate of this city is almost 60%. Almost 70% of the population of Hajira earns salary through foreign employment, Ten (10%) are doing government services and rest are doing local business.

The Bhimber region is only region in Azad Kashmir which consists of plains. Its hot, dry climate and other geographical conditions closely resemble with those of Gujarat, the adjoining district of Pakistan.

Naik Saif Ali Janjua Pakistan Army Azad Kashmir was a platoon commander during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. He received the Hilal-e-Kashmir from the government of Azad Kashmir, which is equal to Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military award given by Pakistan. He fought in the Kashmir sector during the 1948 War and was killed there.
