This is input from Richard Baehr [striking themes already covered in prior Blast e-mails and touching-

upon other contemporary issues that have been (appropriately?) ignored [e.g., Dunham]:

    1. My Israel Hayom article today onhow the global-left links Ferguson to Israel.

    2. My high school classmate from Bronx Science, Joshua Muravchik, will speak on behalf of

CAMERA in Northbrook at the Northbrook Community Synagogue, 2548 Jasper Court at 7:30 PM on

Tuesday, December 9th; Joshua will be discussing themes from his latest book, "Making David Into

Goliath: How the World Turned Against Israel."

    3. Matti Friedman onwhat the media gets wrong about Israel;this article has been very troubling

for the Associated Press, which has been a prime player in mis-reporting the news from Israel, and

    whose biases are becoming clearer.

    4. One of the few good things to come out of the non-stop reporting about police killings and the

demonstrations which have followed, is that they have driven hysterical global warming stories out ofthe news.

Remember that if world average temperatures reach a level of 3.6

degrees Fahrenheit above where they allegedly were in 1850, it is all over for the planet.

This is equivalent to 2 degrees centigrade. So far, temperatures are up 0.8 degrees

centigrade and 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since the start of the industrial revolution, so we

have 2.2 degrees Fahrenheit, and 1.2 degrees centigrade left before the "end". But for

some strange reason or reasons, global temperatures are exactly where they were 18

years ago, despite record levels of carbon emissions, mostly from China, India and

developing countries. The important thing to remember is that if temperatures rise 3.59

degrees Fahrenheit, we have a future on earth, but at 3.6 we don't. Of course the likesof great scientific minds such as MSNBC's Chris Hayes know exactly how much carbon

can still be burned to avoid the apocalypse. It is about 1/5 of what is left in the ground.

They also know the sensitivity of temperature change to specific CO2 levels in the

atmosphere. They also know how much CO2 levels in the atmosphere grow for specific

amounts of CO2 and other greenhouse gases which are emitted. It is wonderful to know

so much and be so sure of oneself. For those who are not buying the theories or the

hysteria [regarding, in particular, the oceans and aerosols], and who still have open

minds, there are these articles which attempt to provide partial explanations for why

the global temperature rise has stalled.

    5. Hillary is allegedly one of the smartest women alive, and Ready-for-Hillary is her campaign team

in-waiting; much as is the Clinton Global Initiative, it is a not-for-profit in the business of securing donor

names [in addition to anything else it may do] and its "accounting" could keep a major firm busy for

months. {Some genius decided that thisvideowas helpful for connecting Hillary to certain types of white

    voters.}

    6. Barack Obama, Israel's great friend [according to some Jewish Democrats] is pressuring

Congress not to add any sanctions against Iran, but he seems interested in imposing them on Israel.

    With friends like these

    7. Michael Doran's Senate testimony on Iran details the perceptions of America by its allies now

that the Administration's Iran charm offensive is in its 6th

    year.

    8. Needless to say, the fact that I am providing thisTedtalk link has nothing whatever to do with

the fact that my daughter is a veterinarian.

    9. Until a few weeks ago, it was a certainty that Lean {this is what he typed, although her name is

Lena}Dunham's book would make it to the New York Times recommended list for Christmas (or as the

paper might call it, the winter-season book-buying period). Now we know that Dunham by her own

admission, regularly sexually abused her infant sister, and "took care of her business" in bed with her

sister. This was in the book, but never mentioned by the reviewers who glowingly applauded this new

voice for her generation. It should come as no surprise that her story in the book about being raped at

Oberlin by a young Republican, would prove to be a fabrication. All it took was a little fact checking. If

the career of this ghastly woman ends tomorrow, it will be none too soon.

    10. Language mistakesIsrael's defenders make [reminiscent of writings by the local ZOA].

    11. Since everyone else is commenting on the recent grand jury decisions on police shootings, I will

offer up my own list of suspect shootings in order of how problematic they appear to be [Cleveland,

    Staten Island, Ferguson].

I am with Charles Barkley, John Judis and many others on Ferguson. There has been

plenty of criticism of the police, but few want to talk about what the person on

the street, Mike Brown, might have done to cause his demise [robbing

a convenience store, threatening its owner, refusing to listen to police requests to get

on the street, assaulting a police officer, trying to grab his gun, charging at him].

The Staten Island case seems more problematic, though I am not privy to grand jurytestimony. I think a grand jury in another borough might have indicted the cop.

The cop in theClevelandshooting appears to have been a bad cop, and removed from a

prior job in a smaller city and picked up by Cleveland PD. This one went down very

    quickly and seems very problematic.

All that said, there is no national pattern of white cops looking to shoot black men. There are a handful

of controversial police shootings each year, not dozens. The fact that white cops hunting down black

men is the storyline that has emerged is problematic. It leads to retaliation-type events [based on the

view that whites, in general, need to be taken down], as with the [Bosnians in St. Louis[who may be the

targets of hate crimes]; police "reforms" could handicap the legitimate activities of police.

    12. Chris Hughes could not buy a New York State House seat for his husband who was crushed by

the Republican, and he could not do much with theNew Republicother than to totally destroy it. I read

this magazine for years [a center left publication, pro-Israel, and often very thoughtful with open

debates among the writers]. The magazine moved from liberal to left under Hughes, and became much

more hostile to Israel. Since no one of any ability is left to write for the magazine, Hughes can always try

to rehire former writer Stephen Glass from Highland Park, the principal character in the movie Shattered

Glass about Glass' invented stories in the journal [which editor Charles Lane discovered].

    13. NBC Meet the Press host Chuck Todd saysObamacare is and was a mess from the beginning;

best I recall, he was not saying this during the period before the bill was voted on by Congress.

    14. TheLouisianarunoff.

    15. Israeli Arab students at the Technion [both men and women] areflourishing.
