    ANGLE Tracking : guidance use

Trackers using a single time-shared beam to track angles: Sequential lobing Conical ScanSimultaneous beams:

An alternative to stepping the antenna beam around the direction of the

target is to rotate it continuously .Because the rotation of the squinted beam and the targets offset from the

rotation axis, the amplitude of the echo signal modulated at beam rotation

    frequency

Amplitude of the modulation depends on the angular distance betweentarget direction and rotation axis.

Phase of modulation gives the angle error

    Amplitude gives the beam displacement

    Problem areas :

    1. change of Echo amplitude from Pulse to pulseDue to RCS variation of target.

    2. They can process at the most 10 -15

    Pulses per second.

    MONO Pulse technique

The problem of pulse to pulse variation of Echo can be solved by having

Simultaneously more than One beam (4 ) on the target to measure .

Simplest system : Amplitude comparison : SUM & DIFF
