    To increase its competitive advantage and comply to the regulations, PT cement Padang

    having high commitment to become an environmental friendly cement industry through

    PROPERs activities where green PROPER is the minimum target

    Major initiative of PROPER is Energy management (Energy Conservation).

    Energy Management has double positive impacts to the Corporation which will reduce

    Energy Cost (most significant component of COGM) and decrease of CO2 emission.

    One of the most successful program has been implemented is WHRPG

    Energy Alternatif is the most upcoming and sustain program. Development Phase and

    need to speed up the programs in PT Semen Padang.

    Plant. It is a cooperation project between

    Japan Government through NEDO with

    Indonesian Government thorugh Industrial

    Ministry

    Inaugurated on October 2011 by the Minister

    of Industry Republic Indonesia

    The advantages of WHRPG for PT Semen Padang

    Having a Power Plant that can produce 8,5 MW and the reduction the use of ectricity from PLN

    around 57.600.000 kWh/year (Assumming the operation is 7.680 hours/year). Participating to reduce Global Warming through the reduction of CO2s emmission around

    47.000 tons/year.
